Marshall and WVU to Play Tuesday

Herd hosts Mountaineers at Appalachian Power Park at 6 p.m.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- After a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat to in-state foe West Virginia (24-17, 6-9 Big 12) last week, Marshall baseball (15-27, 8-13 C-USA) is looking to even the series when the Herd welcomes the Mountaineers to Appalachian Power Park on Tuesday in Charleston.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m., and both of the starting pitchers from a week ago will head back to the hill. In that contest, the teams combined for just six hits in what turned into a pitchers' duel. Back-to-back home runs from the Mountaineers propelled them to victory.

This will be the second meeting between the two teams at Power Park. In the inaugural game, the Marshall pitching staff combined for a two-hit 8-0 shutout.
