    I can tell you the basketball offices does NOT want us in the future CUSA. They have wanted to be with ODU and JMU all along, no matter the conference. Yes, they got their way. The only thing they didn't get was Liberty as well

    Exactly. The faculty rep will be the only dissenting vote. Obviously the vote has been taken in order for the new president (Brad Smith) to be in town on Thursday

    There is zero doubt in my mind that the president will be Brad and the conference will be SBC

    I am with him a lot and have never heard him say a negative thing about us joining the league especially with ODU and JMU coming along. He has always spoken of having them and Liberty in any league we are in

    He did not push that idea. His hope was to make it better by adding JMU and Liberty. Again, that was BEFORE the CUSA defections. He would have REALLY preferred a new league with most CUSA east along with JMU and Liberty

    I totally agree. I was just pointing out that we are joining what was a very bad basketball league. Obviously ODU, Marshall and JMU will make it stronger. Those 3 and Louisiana have probably the best basketball tradition in the what will be new SBC

    Speaking basketball. There are 31 division 1 basketball conferences. Last year CUSA was ranked 13th. The SBC was 23rd. Thus their champion was forced to play in a play in game to make the tournament

    keep in mind, the G5 voted autonomy to the P5 just to get a single New Years Day game. The playoffs are totally controlled by the P5. The NCAA has nothing to do with it. With the P5 calling the shots and picking the voters, they have zero incentive to give up a share of the playoff money

    and if the SBC thing happens we will still have 2 Texas schools to go along with 2 from Louisiana, 2 from Alabama, 2 from Mississippi and 2 from Arkansas.

    Connor At Practice Thursday

    I just got word that 6-8 PG Jacob Connor will be at practice in the CAM on Thursday at 2:20 pm. The staff would love for as many as possible to make it out to show our support for Marshall basketball.

    Being at the game, I can tell you it was a strong wind. The flags were standing full out when we arrived at the stadium 90 minutes prior to kickoff and remained that way for every second until we left after the game. I've never seen anything like it
