Edit: No clue how to edit title. Should read "19 year old boy will spend 25 years on sex-offenders registry"

From the story...

"Zach was arrested and eventually pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. After admitting that she had lied about her age, the now 15-year-old and her mother even testified on Zach’s behalf at his trial.

According to court documents, the girl’s mother told the judge, “I don’t want him to be a sex offender because he really is not.” Her daughter added, “I feel nothing should happen to Zach.”

But the judge condemned what he called a culture of “meet, hook-up, have sex, sayonara, totally inappropriate behavior,” according to court documents. Zach was sentenced to 90 days in jail and ordered to register as a sex offender."

Sounds like the judge applied his own draconian views of what is "inappropriate behavior" in this case. At some point laws need changed to prevent teenagers from having their entire life destroyed because a girl lied about her age. From ABC News...

It's awful. Even if a girl produces a fake ID to show a guy, he is still in just as much trouble.

My mother recently served on a grand jury over the course of two months. A high number of cases dealt with underage girls who had lied to guys about their age. The guys were barely legal themselves, most of the time, and the appearance of the girls made their false age very believable. But, it gets worse. Hungry assistant DAs do whatever they can to get another person indicted for their own career gain. These girls would come in front of a grand jury having obviously been coached by a DA.

Evidence of the "offenses," including text messages, would be presented. In one case, the girl's text messages were very graphic about what she wanted to do to the guy sexually. But, when she appeared in front of the grand jury to testify, she suddenly became an innocent school girl. None of the language she used in the text messages over a number of weeks was used. Instead, she had to be coached to explain what happened and kept referring to a guy's junk as a "wee-wee." It was clear to everyone that she had been coached, but the jury is ordered to follow the law.

Pu77& will ruin you, gentlemen. It is the downfall of man.

I agree there is a double standard. Little Suzy Rotten Crotch can be a the biggest slut and even beg for it, but then we she flips she will take you down.

There was some little ho bag at a school near us who liked members of football teams. Not just her own school, but the entire conference. Well, she also liked her picture taken, particularly in group settings. Well, you know what happens rumors start and pictures get shared in text messages. All around the county.

Well, three damn years after she graduates her parents figure this out and find evidence on old phones. THey learn she was All Conference at you know what. Instead of being shamed and realizing their little cutey pie was a ho bag, they went to the school board and District Attorney. She was now 19 and they were going after people. They were going after teenage boys for child pornography. No joke.

The thirsty ass USA Criminal Justice system strikes again. I am just glad it is finally being exposed and people are caring.

Rifle's examples are why i will probably never serve on a jury or grand jury. I have a strong bent towars jury nullification and giving the finger to the law in general.

Would 17 have been legal in this case? I wonder if he would have any recourse toward that website. And I agree, the judge is being an extra-legal asshole.
