Bennett and Taylor 0 points and as a team we shot 57% from the free throw line. Lose by 9 to a sub 500 team. Pathetic! How do you beat La Tech and then turn around and lose by 9 to a sub 500 team.

By winning 2 games against 2 sub 500 programs we had a shot of being in the top pod and having a bye in the tournament and what do we do come out and play like crap and 2 of our starters don’t even score a single point and get beat by 9 by a team that sucks. There’s no silver lining that was garbage.

D'Antoni needs to shed this "yuk - yuk" nice guy, I'm your pal persona as a Coach, do what's best for MARSHALL and cull some of these non productive, poor performing recruiting "mistakes", who were brought in as "projects", and recruit some grad transfers and/or junior college players who are ready to play NOW, and not require two or three years of "teaching and coaching" just to become marginal "mid major" players.. We have IMMEDIATE needs, like good outside shooting, rebounding, and more playmaking players who can create and finish!!

Last nights was the first night I’ve really had a chance to watch them this year. It looked like a pickup game for both teams. Iran looks like an offensive lineman pushing guys around(mostly without the ball). The team was basically Kinsey and Williams offensively. No one wants to rebound, a couple of rebounds here or there changes that game IMO.

Dillon only played a few minutes, but he looks to be a step slow and lacking any skills that will contribute. Hard nosed kid who was good high school player, but not sure he has a future at MU. Harris never got in the game, so have to assume he will transfer. I was concerned that there are so few assists to players cutting to the basket. Seems to be too much emphasis on 3 point shooting. The other obvious offensive move is for Kinsey or West to try to go through two or three defender to get to the basket. Works occasionally but not often enough. Players stand around too much waiting for a pass that they can use for a 3 point shot. Not enough movement by the four players without the ball. Lots of things to critique after watching that game. Shooting percentage and free throw misses were obviously a factor, but I am more concerned about the style of play. Taylor has not impressed me yet. He may have been overhyped.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but Taylor hasn’t impressed you at all? Certainly he has had plenty of bad games, but can you say he hasn’t had some outstanding games?

Twolf - That sounds right. Bring in IB around 14 min mark to change things up. Let AT spell Jared. Get our two best outside shooters on the floor, + at a faster tempo. Liberally sub in Our 7 footer, DG, and really that's as deep as we need to be right now (9 man rotation)!! Great combo - maybe one of the observers can whisper in DD's ear.....Byers has really been a difference maker 2 of the last 3, and Jahnsen is starting to show how important he is on both ends of the floor.
I know we will know remaining 4 games tomorrow.....anybody know how it will shake out? 4 7-7 teams and UTSA @ 6-8. We played FAU & the RRunners away - does that mean we get them @ home?

If it's scheduled just like last year, based on the order after tiebreakers:
Marshall = Home vs ODU & FAU, Away at UTSA and UAB
UAB = Home vs Marshall and ODU, Away at FAU and UTSA
ODU = Home vs FAU and UTSA, Away at UAB and Marshall
FAU = Home vs UTSA and UAB, Away at Marshall and ODU
UTSA = Home vs UAB and Marshall, Away at ODU and FAU

MU_Herd has it right. POD play has nothing to do with where you played a team earlier in the year
