2015 Punter Signs With The Herd

Grayson High School (Loganville, Georgia) Class of 2015 punter Austin McGugan committed to Marshall over the past weekend during his visit to the Conference USA program for the annual Green and White spring game.
Heading into the visit the 6-foot-1, 205-pound McGugan was almost certain of where he wanted to continue his student-athlete career.
"I was about 99 almost 100 percent sure going into the visit that's where I want to be," McGugan said of Marshall. "It felt like home even though I wasn't up there yet."
McGugan said he will be a walk-on at Marshall until he wins the starter job then he will be placed on scholarship. He said that means a lot because "most specialists don't get the opportunity to go on scholarship until about their second year."
Georgia, Kentucky, Western Kentucky and Georgia Southern were also showing interest in the punter...
