i agree about the "break" the guys will get against our scrub opponents, but they will still have to prepare all week like normal and likely play 3 quarters. the biggest benefit of a bye week is for injured players (especially those with nagging injuries). we were killed with injuries last season. maybe a mid season bye would have prevented that MTSU loss. maybe our kicker doesn't go nuts. we also have to include the notion that the "committee" is only checking our box scores...
nonetheless, we have a schedule very similar to the '99 season that allowed a top 10 finish. this team is much younger and less battle tested than the '99 team, but they have a huge opportunity to do something special.
