Things can and will be done. All we ever heard before was how we can't do this, can't do that, shouldn't do this, shouldn't do that, shame, pity, etc. Hell, if I wanted that I could have stayed in the hills and whined about being poor my whole life.
There is still an ass kicker spirit in this country. That's most of the battle right there.
