Weird how so many priests have ended up as sick, disgusting perverts, praying on boys. Not sure what the stats are, but I'm guessing they lead the category, % queers by occupation. How can you keep that many victims so secretive for so long? That has to mean all other ranking members of a congregation had to have some knowledge. Damn, over 1,000? That rivals HerdBuckeye's list.
Who would have ever guessed that grown men who vow to be celibate, not masturbate, not lust after women would turn out to be sexual predators of young men ? I wonder how many of them are actually homosexuals?

My dry spells are not 50 years. I read one theory is the priest can get in a mental state and they become adolescent like and go into a child like state of mind. They then act it out and prey upon the boys.
One thing I never understood is why they make them take a vow of celibacy. Doesn't make sense and is unrealistic.

Blame it on your religion. Your religion claims that sex outside of marriage is a sin. Masturbation is a sin. Hell, even lusting is a sin. Therefore, they have to vow celibacy.
This is not a biblical mandate by any means. The Church was a thousand years old before it definitively took a stand in favor of celibacy in the twelfth century at the Second Lateran Council held in 1139, when a rule was approved forbidding priests to marry. Even Peter the first pope (according to catholic dogma) was married. Some felt that since Jesus was never married this would be a good model.Others felt it would set them apart from the laity. However, Jesus did not come to earth to create a family but he came to create a church. The Protestants took the exact opposite position. Interestingly enough Luther said arguing that it promoted masturbation, homosexuality and illicit fornication. Guess he was right.
One of the priests was at our local parish in Clarksburg when I was in High School. Several H.S. friends posted inappropriate things the dude said and did.
Where were all of the moderate Christians to stop these priests? With that many priests terrorizing children for that long, many moderate Christians had to have heard rumors or seen something at some point, yet they allowed this terrorism to continue for decades.
Where were all of these priests radicalized? How could we not start monitoring these churches and form a database of Christians to make sure this practice that Christians have allowed for decades not continue?

so, anyhoo, this guy goes to confession and after confession, priest tells the guy he really needs to use the restroom and could he cover for him. tells him when someone confesses a sin, that he has a guide to look up the sin and the corresponding forgiveness. guy agrees and goes through several looking up the sins and having the sinner do their hail mary's, etc. for forgiveness.

I'm extremely bothered that so few Christians on this board have spoken out against this terrorism. Are you guys a part of it and don't want to speak out? This is why Christians can't be trusted.
