8 of 9 CUSA teams underdogs in their bowls

According to?????? No one is going to say that CUSA is a terminator of a conference, but some of the upper teams are actually fairly decent. What I saw is a lot of ESPN homerism, but what do I know

C'mon Man... CUSA is awful as a whole... I will give you that FAU has been good most of the year. The theoretical second best team (N. Texas) got whacked by 30 in the CUSA championship game. FIU, So. Miss, UAB and Marshall all have serious and easily identifiable flaws. MTSU and WKU are terrible and only got to 6 wins thanks to Charlotte, ODU, UTEP, Rice and the rest of the league being absolutely pathetic.

CUSA is a lot closer to the Sun Belt than it is to the AAC. That's just the world we are living in this year.

why do some of you always take the position that C-USA is so terrible? Yes we are no SEC for sure. But we just got 10/ 14 teams bowl eligible no small feet/ Here is a Conference ranking from Nolan. We are the same for all intents as the MWC and the MAC. So does that mean everybody else in the MAC, MWC and SunBelt all suck?

Not every team in those conferences suck, but yes a majority of them are below average to garbage this year. The reason CUSA got so many teams bowl elligible is because none of the teams are exceptional and 5 of them are complete nightmares.

Heck, use us as an example, we got bowl elligible and didnt beat a team with a winning record.

Kent State - Garbage
Miami (little) - Awful
Cincinnati - Bad
Charlotte - Garbage
ODU - Garbage
WKU - 6-6
MTSU - 6-6

It doesnt take any advanced analytics to tell me that CUSA as a whole is bad. Watch the games, its easy.

I guess I don't see what you see. Of course Miami of Ohio is no Miami of Fl. But considering the number of slots available to play D1 football it makes no sense to act like everybody is a scrub.

Almost every school ends up with this challenge based on the numbers. Look at Alabama'
Vandy 5-7
Ole Miss 6-6
Ark 4-8
Tenn 4-8
Mercer? LOL
And that is the best conference in all of CFB.

Lets talk about talent playing outside of the P5 conferences.
Here is a a breakdown by tier of the current NFL roster.

This is not exact and probably off a few here and there.

P5 players: 1,337 (67%)
G5 players: 380 (19%)
FCS players: 176 (9%)
D2 & below players: 96 (5%)

So you see there are plenty of good players out there

We are :D The Champions of The Cupcakes our flavor is VANILLA!!! :p

This actually illustrates my point... Two thirds of the NFL talent comes from P5 schools. Add in the AAC (the best G5 by far) and I bet that number climbs close to 75 percent.

Watch Alabama, watch USC, hell watch Iowa State, Minnesota, Arizona, etc... Those teams are on another level talentwise from most G5s including 90% of CUSA.

Aside from individual talent, G5 schools also are more likely to face institutional challenges (bad administration, bad coaching, lack of resources, etc.).

It is cyclical, but this year CUSA as a league is not very good. No dominant team, very little NFL caliber talent and lots of teams ranging from mediocre to horrendous.

If we actually recruited at the level we're led to believe do...and we actually had good coaches like we're told we have, we would dominate the Cupcake Conference EVERY year, instead of only winning 1 Championship in 8 years.

There were a lot of crappy teams in the MWC and MAC this year.
