Watching #30 boom punts out of the end zone before the 2nd half - I assume that is our punter of the future? He was hitting them with a nice tight spiral about 50 every time! Who is this kid?

? # 2 - In doing some searches, I only find the following dates since 1970 when 11/14 fell on a Saturday:

11/14/81 (The Sonny era......already over or on the way to being over?)
11/14/87 (I-AA finalists - surely we would've been home that date?)
11/14/92** (Probably, since the I-AA playoffs would have been underway)
11/14/98 (11-1 season, were we home or away on the 14th?)
11/14/2009 (The Snyder era was coming to a close - could that have been the debacle with ECU in Htgn?)
11/14/2015
and.....
11/14/2020

If anyone has access to our old schedules, I would be curious to know if MU has had a home football game in
1987, 92 (1st Natl championship must've been on 12/05??), 98 or 2009? If not, then this would be the 1st home game in 45 years where we have played a home contest on the anniversary....appreciate the confirm 1 way or another...

And did you know, that the reason that I also listed a future date is because our AD worked out the 1-1 w/
ECU to coincide with the 50th anniversary of The Crash? We will be playing the Pirates on the same piece of earth on the same date and the same time as the 1970 squad 50 years to the day before......
THAT will be a tough ticket to get!!

Go HERD !!!!

Actually, the Marshall @ ECU game in 2020 will be September 5, 2020.

1981 - Home loss 28-38 Western Carolina
1987 - Home win 47-16 Western Carolina
1992 - Home win 52-14 Tennessee Tech
1998 - Bye week
2009 - Home loss 20-27 Southern Miss

I was at the first three. All are regular season games.

Maclid - Thanks. I mistook what I herd. It's the year we are playing them that is significant, not the date.
Glad you guys are around to keep me straight!

Still gonna be really special game on the 14th! Looking forward to being in town for that one.
Go HERD !

#30 Kaare Vedvik will be the punter next year if the position assignments remain as is but we also know that Vedvik is capable of booming kickoffs (which he did all of last year except for the Boca Bowl) and is not a bad place-kicker but he has not been able to beat out Nick Smith and Amoreto Curraj. Talent in the kicking game is most reassuring!

Except for the 2 out of bounds against UNT.

Considering before he arrived we were giving teams great field position because we couldn't get it to the end zone 99% of the time. Didn't we resort to squibs on a few occasions as well?

I'll take Curraj any day.

I don't disagree, just pointing out the mistakes. I know that in last week's QB Club meeting, Doc surely did.
