Is this the most complete game MU has played all season?

Yes, some bad penalties happened but they didn't really affect the outcome or momentum.

Well, MU just scored as I typed this.

Defense swarmed the ball, forced potential turnovers, and stopped their run.

Offense...well, enough said.

Special teams? Solid.

Thoughts?

Oh, and Sam was wrong again.

Ok Sam time for you to come in and move the goal posts again for our bowl game. We won the East, beat a team that was 8-3 on the road to do it. Finished the regular season 9-3. Tonight we destroyed a 10-2 team on the road to win the SBC championship to finish the regular season at 10-3. Now we go to a bowl where we could finish 11-3.

Please tell us again how bad a coach Huff is.

Aw c’mon fellas! It’ll be a while before Sam is able to talk let alone type. His portion of crow etoufe’ is sizable…

I think they ought to be on the phone with him now, locking it down, but I’m not holding my breath.

UL getting the first and second string QBs knocked out of the game on consecutive plays early in the game definitely helped.

Many fans getting what they have been wanting for 3 years now. Huff leaving. Be proud. Take some credit.

I've been around enough sports fans of many different schools - it is not unique to MU. Sports fans tend to be negative and opinionated - not a good combo.

I've heard Herd fans at games during our really good years complain that we only got 20 yards on a passing play - we should have gotten 25...☹️

CH takes his .600 record, sanctimonious attitude, and total disloyalty to another school, theoretically a lateral move, but in reality a half-step down. Not the intergenerational P4 wealth he is after. I am certain he will find the culture at USM to not be sufficiently SEC crazy enough, the wife will find someone in Hattiesburg to dislike, and he will be unable to deal with fans who dare to question anything he does. Two possible results. Either he parlays a good year or two into some bottom P4 job, or he fails and in four or five years gets fired. The clock is ticking, in 10 years, he starts to age out of ever really making the big time.

Don't really care. Guy is now a part of the MU past. Someone else's problem now. Really don't care.

But onto this "wrong" garbage. So, predict MU wins every game, in every sport, and blast anyone who disagrees, and then when MU wins say those who are not sycophants are "wrong".

You guys remind me of politicians. Always there to take credit when they groundbreak for a new factory. Never around for the closing.

Let's all get behind our new staff. Go Herd.

"Let's all get behind our new staff. "
Hard pass. Gonna need to see what it looks like before I "get behind" anything.

Marshall looks like a clown car crashed into a dumpster fire on this.

No personal attacks on anyone - administrative failure on comms and execution across the board.

Actually, true leadership. Signing .600 coach who just went 6-7 would have been malpractice.

He had a good year. Not great, good. 10-3 vs weak schedule. USM, which is grossly mismanaged, bit. Good for USM.

No reason to get in a bidding war with USM for .600.

100% behind the new staff. 100%.

This is a ridiculous take without having all the facts.

Do I wish Huff would sign an extension and stick around a few more years to see what he can do? Sure.

But many have reported he was offered several extensions and refused. We can't force him to stay, nor should we want him to if he doesn't want to be here. The point is, at this juncture, we don't actually know what has or has not been offered. You can't say the school looks bad without having all the facts in hand to weigh them. Is there a potential Marshall dropped the ball? Certainly. Is it equally plausible that Huff had told the school he wasn't extending no matter what? That's also a possibility. If and until both sides make their stories public, we aren't going to know enough to make a judgment call one way or the other. We can speculate all day, but that's unfair to both Huff and the Administration.

Correct. Lawyers and shrinks make millions trying to dissect how marriages fail. Or you can just tick the box that says "irreconcilable differences" and save all the money and all the psychobabble.

Fact is this was a bad marriage. CH just was not the right person for MU. USM will now find out if it was us, or if it was him. Maybe he can find happiness in Mississippi; or maybe his disloyalty, thin skin, sanctimony, and poor game management go with him there.

Don't really care. But the reality is MU has said all its going to say about the matter. CS will do a press release thanking him for his time and wishing him well; an interim coach will take over for a meaningless bowl game; the new staff will move in; some players will leave, some to USM, others to wherever; new players will come, and come September MU will still be the greatest comeback in sports history, and USM will still be USM. On the CH side, USM's media (to the extent that USM has media, after the SEC sucks 99% of the air out of the room, no one really cares) will be treated to the same meaningless platitudes we got for four years.

Does USM give out jackets?

All part of the game...
If you're trying to discredit the Herd, your efforts are for sure recognized.

However, it's been said that what you're saying is untrue anyway.

So you look foolish regardless...good job!

MU fans don't deserve to be that spoiled. They'll take literally anything and try to complain they should've gotten more simply because.
Alabama and Clemson fans can complain about yardage...MU fans shouldn't even complain about wins.

Even if you "see" what the new staff looks like, you're an insignificant person and thus, doesn't move the needle at all.

You just don't like Huff, do you? Did he not play your son enough. Get over your affection for Doc and move on.

It's perception.
Marshall should be using this year as a jumping off point for a better portal and restocking the roster.
Instead we have fans excited about a rebuild.

I don't really care who doesn't love who or why it played out the way it did in the situation.
Marshall is worse off.

I hope it works out for both sides.

No you don't.
You want MU to fail.
