It feels good to wake up with a headache this morning... First things first, the Sun Belt needs to add a clause that if your stadium is under construction you don't get to host the title game. The Cajun fans I met were all pretty good folks, but only having half a stadium and drawing about 15k fans for a championship game is pretty sad, and from what I saw on the highlights the stadium looked even worse on TV.

With that said... Here is the good, the bad and the ugly from the Herd's conference championship win.

The Good -
• Effort - I think we can all attest there is a lot going on around this program right now. It would have been easy to get distracted, get behind early, and let the wheels come off. That didn't happen. Our guys were locked in.
• Braxton - He continues to improve as a decision maker and his ability to run between the tackles makes our offense go even when we aren't having a great day in the pass blocking category.
• Defensive line - Louisiana had nothing in the ground game, and when their QB went out the game was over. We stuffed the run and got consistent pressure on the freshman they had to put in.
• Ball control - The second half felt like Lafayette just wanted the game to end and they were cool with us running out the clock. Losing their QB really took the wind out of them and they knew it was over.

The Bad -
• Penalties - We had a bunch and probably should have had a couple more. The refs were letting a lot go after the whistle.
• The venue - Its not their fault, they are making their stadium better and Im sure next year it will be fine, but it was a dive. Playing in a construction site was about as appealing as it sounds.

The Ugly -
• Travel logistics - Im selfishly hoping we get sent to Birmingham for a bowl game rather than Shreveport. This whole trip has been one big cluster for me, but it is what it is and a win has made it less shitty.

Overall, a fitting end to a season that has been a roller coaster... We went from 3-3 and just hoping to make a bowl game, to winning the conference title. Today we'll find out our bowl destination and probably get a formal announcement that Huff is leaving for the worst team in the league (one of the worst in America)... But whatever the reason for Huff's departure, it doesn't change who we are. We are the Sun Belt champs.
