Alabama has highest rated class of all time

Huff built the vast majority of Alabama's current recruiting class:

How do you get "vast majority"? Bama has 26 commitments(25 signed) and 247 only shows that Coach Huff is responsible for 6 of them. 6 out of 25 isn't the majority. You could say he was responsible for about a quarter of the 2021 class, but not the vast majority.

I think of CFB like a pick-up playground game where Clemson and Alabama get to split the first 50 picks, and then they let Ohio State and Notre Dame pick one each, and rotate from there.

O$U is set to sign over half the top 10 in the composite rankings.

He was the recruiting coordinator. They listed the kids main recruiter. The recruiting coordinator still picks who is targeted and who is offered in conjunction with Saban. Therefore, he built that class and gets credit for it just like every recruiting coordinator ever.

I've never seen a single staff where the recruiting coordinator "picks who is targeted" or "who is offered." In fact, I've never seen a recruiting coordinator argue with a position coach about who is or isn't offered with that position coach's unit.

What exactly are the duties assigned to the Recruiting Coordinator?

No doubt Huff knows how to recruit. Even though he wont be able to get the likes of quality that Alabama gets all he needs to do is reel in some of the guys that fall through the cracks for us to get better.

At smaller FBS schools that don't have a huge player personnel/recruiting department, the recruiting coordinator will lead the "strategy" of the recruiting. He will assign recruiting territories, keep updated on or assign schools for each coach to visit, plan mass/staff mailings, etc.

Most FBS schools now have at least one off-field person handling that as a director of player personnel or director of recruiting. That person usually now handles all of that staff as well as leading "the board" (recruiting board detailing number of players on schollie at each position, number of offers/committed, etc.), leading social media interaction, etc.

Along with a DFO, the off-field player personnel/recruiting director will handle official and unofficial visits with some input from the recruiting coordinator. Obviously, at schools with bigger budgets, each task is divided and led by any number of other staff members: Director of Recruiting, Director of Player Personnel, On-Campus Recruiting Director, Director of High School Relations, etc. Some of these staffs are so bloated that it's out of control. Florida has six assistant director of player personnel all led by the Director of Player Personnel. Tennessee is under a heavy investigation, and last week, they fired a handful of their numerous recruiting/player personnel staff as a result.

I feel like so many of these schools are just making up titles so they can load their staffs up like Bama having all these former HCs as analysts.

Ok so he landed a 1/4 of the class at Alabama personally.

Of his targets, he inked the #1 overall player from the state of Michigan, he signed the #1 overall player from the state of Florida and the #1 overall player from the state of Texas.

His lesser recruits were just the #1 rated OLB in the state of FL, the #9 rated player from the state of Ohio, and a top 50 (36) WR.

He already brought us a 4 star recruit, let’s see what a full recruiting cycle looks like, maybe it’s all upper 3 and 4 stars, maybe not, but I bet Huff brings in a better level of talent than our last 5 seasons.

Currently, support staffs (which include analysts) are unlimited by the NCAA. They aren't supposed to do any direct coaching of players, and based on the number of people allowed in the box on game day and the number of headsets allowed, analysts usually don't end up in the box or with a headset anywhere (assuming schools follow those NCAA rules).

But having some really good sets of eyes watching film is important. More, paying a guy $60K and holding him on your staff instead of a rival school paying him a lot more to be a better assistant coach than they have at their program is great.

Welcome to Alabama. Alabama has three assistant coaches, including Huff, in the top five of national recruiting points. Ohio State has three assistant coaches in the national top 10.

When you're at the creme de la creme, it's not hard to recruit. Do you think Alabama and Ohio State have six of the top 10 best recruiters in the country? No. They do have extreme advantages in recruiting at those very top schools that makes an average recruiter really good, a good recruiter one of the best in the country, etc.

The guys you want to check out are the ones who are in the top five at a school like Maryland, the top 25 at a school like Indiana, etc.

I must ask when has this ever happened? He recruits one fourth of top countries recruits? He wants to coach at Marshall. Name one coach on any side of ball at any sport? Still bitching? WTF Give the guy credit. Or you just want your neighbor that said once he watched a Marshall game? Ill be honest....I'll take the guy over the neighbor. Just saying
