I may look like a fool if they get beat tonight (and I'll have $1000 less), but this may be the best college football team over the last 30+ years.

That sounds about right. I will say no doubt they are the best again this year.
They are so good I turned the game off and watched Oklahoma vs Texas Tech instead.
As crazy as it sounds, their defense isn't the best one Alabama has put out under Saban. The difference is how strong this offense is compared to other Alabama teams.
I thought I jinxed them with my post, as they didn't play a strong game offensively, yet still won by nearly 30 points at LSU. Without looking again, I believe their margin of victory for just their SEC games is almost 35 points.

Alabama has the biggest, fastest, and most skilled players in America. Their quarterback is better than most quarterbacks that have played at Alabama. Nothing more exciting than wv going for the win rather than a tie. I would have went for the tie and then beat them in overtime. Old school style was go for the win if its on the road.
College football is not enjoyable as a whole because Alabama. It sucks going into every season knowing that it’s alabama vs whoever in the playoffs/championship
