Even better (worse?), most couldn't tell the difference between a fact and a patently false statement. Need an example? Watch any of those "man on the street" question and answer sessions from pundits/comedians from either end of the political spectrum. Bottom line is, Americans are generally too stupid and/or intellectually lazy to actually take the time to learn about much of anything in the political or philosophical realms. We're a country of morons, and it isn't limited to one party.
This is true. You should never stop learning...ever. I’d add intellectually dishonest to your list as well. I think it’s important that the extent of your learning should not be attempts to validate previously help positions. History, science, literature...the more you learn the greater perspective you have.
Yeah, like thinking when an American breaks the law, they get separated from their children.

To be clear, you don't believe people that have been arrested and detained for committing a criminal act are separated from their families? Because I have been in many county jails, as well as federal and state prisons, and I have yet to see the "family-friendly" block.
Also, you deny that you have to be (1) already in the U.S., or (2) detained in a U.S. holding facility (which, is IN the U.S.) in order to request asylum? Because that's EXACTLY what the law requires. You can seek refugee status from outside the U.S., which is entirely different and involves a different process than asylum.
If those are your positions, I'd like to see a link or two in support. I don't have any problem admitting when I'm wrong.

What about those families where illegals murdered their children? Forever separation in those cases. Liberals tend to forget all the facts.

This recent bunch of immigrants were told not to come in the USA illegally....they did and are being processed to be returned to their country.
Did the rag Time magazine have faces on the front page of murdered children by illegals? The did a false narrative with a picture of a 4 year child beside Trump which mentioned that child had been separated from her family. The story which later was deemed totally false on all counts.

I really hadn't considered lumping those seeking political asylum or migrant workers with murderers. Guess I just don't have my mind "right".
BTW, I don't disagree with the stance to control those coming in....but we don't have separate them from their children.

While that particular child hadn't been separated....are you claiming that separation from families didn't occur? I'll agree that was terrible, lazy journalism on Time Magazine's part...but a "false narrative"? Believe there's plenty of separated children involved in this mess to support the premise of the picture.

I agree that Obama was tough on those crossing the border - he deported a ton....but what's your proof things were worse under Obama? And don't include the young people who were detained crossing the border without their parents. How many children were forcibly removed from their parents under Obama vs Trump.
This was your post ^^^, which is wholly incorrect. There are 2 ways you can seek asylum. Either requires you to actually be in the U.S. . You either (1) have to already be present in the U.S., or (2) detained in the U.S. because you tried to cross illegally. I'm not sure why you're having problems with this. It's not complicated. As I stated above, seeking refugee status is a completely different process than claiming asylum. Refugee status is done from one's home country and often takes several years to complete. It has absolutely nothing to do with the current debate over asylum.
