And the Tradition Continues

Just like when we beat Purdue then lost to Ohio the next week. Marshall just can’t handle success.
So true, honestly Marshall has done it so many times I just feel apathy. Why even try to be good if you’re just going to take days off. Protect our “identity” is the most hypocritical slogan I’ve heard. If you want identity then you need to show up everyday.

I'm not going to any more away games, especially those played in Ohio. BG, Toledo, OSU, OU. I was at all of them. You guys will have to go without me.
Lol. I stopped going to Athens. Every game I've attended there we've lost.

With the exception of '99, you can go back to any season, any coach and see where they laid an egg once or twice a season. Pruett, Snides, Doc and now Huff, have all puked one or two away. Doesn't make it any better, but it happens.
How they respond will tell us a lot. Sadly, I had us losing to Troy and I don't see that changing now.
If we can figure things out and get back to taking care of the football, we can still go 9-3, 8-4. jmo.

If we're conference champs at the end of this season then yes it's not that big of a deal.
Pruett losing to BG in 98 is different. Sure it was us stubbing our toe, but Pruett already had won us a national championship, then won a MAC Championship.

The thing with BG is that game looks to be what they've been every year since 2004. An "oh no here we go again" game. 98 was a headscratcher. Saturday was a reminder of our fears.

Honestly I’m not appalled by losing to a MAC school, like it or not we have similar resources to a lot of those schools and losing tough games is what builds a rivalry. What I am disappointed about is we let the fan base think they just won the biggest game in program history (which looking at it by the end of the season, it’ll probably just be average against a down Notre Dame) and then losing to a school whom can’t even beat an FCS team…
