Anyone ever own a Trailblazer/Envoy?

I have decided to give my Hyundai to my daughter. She deserves it, and the Mazda I gave her in high school is having some issues. It really is a great car, low miles and pristine. My Hyundai experiment has went well, and I will definitely be considering a Genesis in a few years.

Anyway, I am looking for something cheap and built like a tank to commute in. MPG's is not an issue, I live pretty close to work, and if gas ever spikes crazy again I'll buy a small car and sell the tank. It needs to set up high, as Mom has trouble getting in and out of the Hyundai, if we take her somewhere with us we just take the Jeep now, but I'd like to be able to have both vehicles easier for her to get out of. If it wasn't for that I'd buy a Town Car and drive it until the wheels fell off.

So I found a 2005 Trailblazer with low miles (105k). 4.2 straight six, 4x4. It drives pretty smooth for what it is. It would fit the bill. It's not the fanciest thing, but the AC is cold and it looks to have been well maintained. If I commute in it for four or five years without major repairs it will be money well spent.

Has anyone here ever owned one? How was it? Reliable or a POS? I'd rather get a 4Runner honestly, but just because it says "Toyota" a similar mileage one would be priced where I don't consider it "cheap", and at that point I would just as well buy a new car.

I've leased a couple back when they were building them....but haven't owned for any extended miles. You still see them on the road. Heck you see a lot of the old Blazer on the road. I never had any issues. Owned an extended at one time

The 6 is good... and the vehicle is built on a truck frame. 100K miles isn't that many in this day and age.

The best way to find out info on any generation of vehicle is to hit the forums. People will post so much useful information that the Stealership won't tell you. Hell, you may even find Greed hanging out there since his ass is still chapped from that couple day ban.

Yeah, already been over there reading. Just trying to get all the first hand info I can.

Never owned one personally, but every guy I knew who did seemed to love theirs. It's a niche vehicle for sure, and, for those who spoke poorly of them, the vehicle probably just wasn't the right fit for their needs.

My in-laws owned an Envoy for years and loved it. It was a nice vehicle with good options and it rode well. I drove it several times. They even bought it used and got many years out of it. I have nothing negative to say about it.

Parents had one. Trailblazer. Good vehicle. Right around that same year. Only issues were some air conditioner problems.

Good engine and body. Still.is use with close to 200 grand on it. Solid engine and good transmissions

Thanks guys. I ended up getting a great deal on a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander with low miles. Even having to get new tires on the Mistu I did better by about $1500 than the Chevy, not bad for something mostly just to drive to work.
Oh great, you bought a Jap car. You know Mitsibushi made Jap fighter planes in WW2.

;););););)

busting your chops. I don't give a shit. hahahaa
