Sweet. We don't play and move up 3 spots. Not surprised CC passed us. They throttled somebody.

It is an official HerdCyclones poll! That would be a great matchup.
Both defenses are stout. ISU has the better QB, but I think the Herd passing game is better. ISU has the best running back, believe it or not, but I think Marshall's O'line is better. Marshall special teams is better, only because ISU's is crap.

Purdy is better, but he is VERY inconsistent

No they won't. MTW this year is not much better off then CUSA. AF dropped 30 on them, Boise D is suspect. They are going to be challenged by SDSU and Wyoming is a big way this year.
You don't think a win over #9 BYU is more impressive than wins over UMASS, ASU and EKU?
Air Force scored some meaningless points at the end. Boise played without their starting QB and Safety and still breezed

I take it you didn’t watch much if any of the game. It was a good game that could go either way til Boise had 2 quick scores in the middle of 4th.....it was right about a 10 point game heading to 4th....Boise’s backup QB is a USC transfer that played well yesterday....Boise has actually had 4 different QB’s in their last 8 games going back to last year.....
But it doesn’t matter....Boise nor anyone has a chance at all unless Cincinnati doesn’t win the AAC.....

Unless you're referencing the MTW Title game, SDSU doesn't play Boise this year.

Didn't watch the whole game did you? Thirty points is not "Meaningless". Let me re-acquaint you with the Box Score:

AFA, bounced them for thirty using Navy O.

I did watch. AFA ran the option and killed lots of time. Boise scored at will with their backup QB. The game was never in doubt. In fact the announcers went on to say that there was no way there should be 17 teams ranked between them and Cincinnati

And what would the basis for that idea be?A win over Air Force is now a gold Standard?

I watched the entire Cincy game and part of the Boise State game... Cincy is far better than Boise, at least at this point. By the end of the year that may not be the case, but Cincy is playing like a well oiled machine and made a 3-1 Memphis squad look like a high school team... Am I sold that the Bearcats are the #6 team in the country, maybe not, but I think they are certainly the best G5 team I have watched in all three phases.

with Ohio State now recruiting more and more kids from coast to coast there are plenty of high quality kids from Ohio who are available. Luke is cleaning up plain and simple IMO

Cincy's CB Ahmad Gardner (#12) is one of the best cover corners in the country as a sophomore... As any DC will tell you, having a shutdown guy on one side allows you to do a ton of things schematically.

6 G5's in top 25 with Army having shot at getting there. 3 or 4 if they win out have a chance to be in top 10, defiantly if win out in top 12. Does Cincy get in the top 4 if they win out??? How many get a chance at a bigger bowl than they normally would? Would BYU, Marshall, Coastal get a shot before a 3 loss Florida or a 3 loss Texas at a nice bowl destination with bigger money payout?

I know that is dreaming but was just wondering being bored shirtless.

Zero shot for Cincy (or any G5) to get into a bowl game beyond what they normally get. The NCAA is going to shove down our throats the belief that a 3 loss P5 is more attractive than a zero loss G5.
It took the NCAA this long to give 1 game to the G5...I can't see a pandemic changing their minds.

I don't know, they are ranked 6, I think it is possible for cincy to be in the playoffs, they are ranked higher than UCF at this point and if they win out, it's possible. That would leave the NY6 bowl open to the next G5 Champ in line

The NCAA makes no decisions relative to who gets what bowl. It's all up to the bowls, the playoff committee, and maybe ESPN.

Cincy needs some help to get into the top four, but their road to that point isn't that far fetched...

If Clemson beats Notre Dame (even without Trevor Lawrence) that will bump the Irish down the list.

Cincy would love to see Florida beat Georgia this week and then see Florida get stomped in the SEC title game down the road by Bama.

Then they need no one in the PAC-12 to go undefeated (someone has to beat Oregon basically).

If the three above things happen, the playoffs would likely be.... Clemson, Bama, Ohio State and Cincy

Not gonna happen. Cincy can't sell the tickets or draw the money like a Florida team or anyone else could.
USC could win the Pac-12 as could Oregon. Both would get the nod over Cincy.

What if Clemson and ND play twice and split.

What if Clemson and ND play twice and split.

That would be worst case scenario for Cincy... Clemson loses without Lawrence, then wins with him in the ACC title game, and the voters put both ND and Clemson in the top 4 with Bama and Ohio State.

The other worst case scenarios are a Pac-12 team goes undefeated. Or Florida beats Georgia and then somehow beats Bama in the SEC title game (Florida and Bama both get in).

Again, its far more likely that Cincy gets left out of the playoff and takes the G5 spot in the NYD games, but it is possible they could get in if several pieces fell their way.

And we know the CFP committee is looking for worst case scenarios for Cincy.
I believe they have actually spent more time arguing for leaving out Cincy and ucf than seeing why they should be let in.

Also goes to show how meaningless a title is when compared to money...since the NCAA allowed ucf to actually proclaim themselves "National Champions" despite not even having sniffed the CFP that year. Even Alabama was like, "Yeah, cool guys. Money drives this boat and we make more of it than you."

Not a chance. Every P5 in the top 15 would need 2 losses before UC would even have a snowball's chance. Especially if say Clemson's lone loss was this weekend vs Notre Dame and Lawrence being out. They'll get a mulligan from the committee.
