Pretty good article on the damned if you do, damned if you don't for many immigrants and asylum seekers. The country you left won't take you back (or else you'll be tortured/executed). The country you went to won't allow you in (or have an EU statute determining that the first country you claimed asylum is responsible for you, even though they bussed you to another country and randomly dropped you off).
What happens to the millions of people who leave home to survive, and can never go back?
There are more refugees on the planet than at any time in recorded history.
