Don't pay your bills, get blacklisted. That's our version of meritocracy; while it has basis in logic and financial risk, it's still a social construct.

I guess meritocracy beats throwing them in jail, and in that sense it's an improvement for China.

What is truly horrifying is it is all part of the growing surveillance state, and ours is growing as well. It's no surprise, given the amount of literature written on the subject. We were warned. It's all some 1984 shit.
 
I just saw where you NY officials are proposing that you must provide your social media searches if you are going to purchase a firearm. Communists.
