Ballots in Georgia will be hand counted.

So do you all want the results finalized on election night or do you want onerous processes like this?

why can every other country know results night of and we're so behind?
honest question. I swear in europe and south america they know night of.
Perhaps they don’t do stupid things like requiring hand counting, or disallowing processing (like removing from the envelope) of mail-in ballots until election night.

I would guess that the real difference is they have more efficient organization because it’s done on a national level instead of 50 individual states all doing their own thing.

They don't have Dems wanting to know the score of the game before they stop counting. It is an old trick thst goes back to at least LBJ in Texas. Stop thr count. Figure out what you need and get it.

I think they also don't allow as many mail in ballots too.

That's a good point about a national voting policy being uniform for them.

But I have no clue honestly.

Philadelphia has already said that they won't have the count on election night.

No shit. They can’t even open the mail in ballot till Election Day morning and everyone is going to be manning polling stations all day. How in the world would they have them counted that night?

Let them process the ballots ahead of time and it’ll be a lot faster, but the reality is the Republican Party pushes to make it take longer to count ballots so they can bitch and moan about it and call it unfair.

What?

We want it done honestly, fairly, and correctly.
There aren’t enough poll workers to hand count every ballot and get the result on election night. You can try to hire way more poll workers which means spending way more money, you can accept that the results will take a few days, or you can not hand count ballots.

You're a stupid lying trumptard oath breaker.

Ok. Who said anything about wanting results on election night? Pennsylvania has already told us that won’t happen.

It's a bit easier to count 40 million votes than 150 million. Their president is elected by strictly popular vote and no other office like senate or rep has to be dealt with. There is only one time zone. Voting takes place on Sunday and people have ALL DAY to vote rather than having to vote after they get off from work and wait in long lines.

But most of election results could be made much quicker if mail-in could be counted earlier.

Neither do I. I would rather get the count right. Hand counting is the only way to ensure that. Also, paper ballots.
Hey if you want election workers in Atlanta going through deciding if the Trump circle is bubbled in enough to count the vote I won’t stand in your way.

The more election workers there are, the better chance they get to sue stupid people for making false claims about them.

I absolutely believe that people hand counting ballots will let personal bias impact their decisions on very marginal ballots. It’s like hanging chads times a thousand to hand count paper ballots.

Now, that isn’t what’s happening in GA. They’re just confirming quantities. Which is mainly pointless but will cause a delay in results getting reported.

Republican leaders in the state seem to think the rule is unlawful, though, and it may get struck down.

Sounds good in theory, but a terrible idea if you want to preserve the integrity of our elections.
I don’t see how letting them take the ballots out of the envelopes before Election Day does anything to the integrity of the election.
