basketball vs FAU

I stand corrected!! I think when I 1st checked we were like 11-18........that would mean after that we were 17-19 after that! Also big difference in to’s and assists.....

FAU is pesky. Amazing they have 11 new players. They’ll return nine of their top ten players next year. Should be very good.
I believe they could be a dangerous team by conference tournament time. They have some good players and are very competitive so they should have a good chance of finishing in the top half of the conference this year.

Agree. They're a little up and down right now (win @ Illinois and against ODU but lose @ home against Charlotte) but that's to be expected from a group with so many new players. They'll be a tough match-up in the quarters for whoever draws them.

FAU's guard play is really good with Forrest, Adger, and Stapleton too. But I think we match up really well with them at the 4-5 positions. Their big men don't provide much, so they can't really take advantage of their size. Then when we're on offense, they can't guard us, so it gives us so many good looks. I think we'll have a different game plan defensively for their guards when we face them again. Our defense wasn't bad last night. Some of the looks they got last night were pull ups where they just hit tough shots we'll give them, scrambles from bounces off long rebounds, and just toughly contested shots.

Then again, we may not play them again. We may end up in different pods. If so then we could only play in Frisco

The more I think about it, the more I like this scheduling. It's kinda unfair in a sense where you don't get a return game, except from your travel partner. But it all works out, because where we don't get ODU, La Tech, & UNT at the Cam, we also won't have to go to FIU, FAU, & UTSA...unless we get them in the last few weeks. I might change my mind when the time comes, but I like the thought of it.

Also, it's odd that we shot 37 FTs. That's a lot of trips to the foul line for a team who "lives and dies by the 3."

Well, 6 of those FTs were in the last 30 seconds due to FAU fouling to try to get back in the game.

Ok, and we missed some front ends of 1 & 1s. What's your point? I see quite often on this message board how we "live & die by the 3", like we have to make a ton of 3s to win. We scored more points from the FT line last night than we did from behind the arc. If we're as dependent on the 3pt shot as some claim, the last 6 FT attempts wouldn't have mattered. Since we lived by the 3 last night, the 3pt shot should have far outweighed our FT shooting.
