Betsy DeVos Does the Right Thing On Title IX

"The Obama rules were written to address a real problem: a tendency by colleges to sweep sexual assault allegations under the rug."

That's a great point. And that has been a serious problem.

I believe colleges should not be in the criminal investigation business. All rape allegations should be handled by police agencies, period.

What about when the college has their own police agency?

As Banker noted, almost all report to the university administration and not an elected official, so no dice.

Ideally, such a requirement would result in such agencies being restructured to report to the head of the state police or directly to the governor.

True the victim needs to go to a local hospital and
be seen by a SANE nurse and MD. Then the local police called to invi stigate. The accused needs to be given legal help as well. Good move on the part of DeVos.
