Big XII is a go for football....

There's a video going around on social media of Neal Brown demanding to know "what the plan is if we don't play." He complains that this "snuck up on us," that "nobody had any time to prepare." He also says his players are tired of no one having answers.

I'm kind of scratching my head at all of that. Well, Neal, I guess if there's no football, all those non-compensated "student-athletes" will just have to focus on their college degrees? And I'm sorry five months wasn't enough time for your staff to prepare, perhaps you can get a plan together by spring?

And about not having answers? Welcome to f---ing life on Earth in 2020 my man.

I hear you, but this is a failure from leadership all the way around. I'm sure players are frustrated and want to play. Coaches are competitive and they wan't to get out there and compete as well.

But you're right. These administrators and commissioners have been sitting on their hands for months waiting on someone else to make a decision and now we're in scramble mode. This is exactly how conference realignment went down. People leaking stuff, nobody putting a name to a quote, and we all know what's going to happen before it gets officially released. Then once it does, there's nothing but back stabbing, finger pointing, and ego stroking.

I've been saying this from the beginning of this stuff, but this is the mess they've created for themselves. These conferences didn't want anyone to answer to when it comes to football. They wanted to create their own networks. Some of these schools wanted the ability to create their own networks and skew the competitive advantages even more, without anyone being able to tell them what to do.

Well, when you create a system of few rules and nobody having any final say, this is what you've got. You get egotistical maniac conference commissioners, presidents, athletic directors, coaches, media people, etc. all trying to put their stamp on this thing without anyone working to make it work.

I actually feel like the consistent feature to everybody in a leadership role these days is that they are scared to death to lead. They don't want their name on it, because they don't want the blame. No matter how this crisis evolves in the next six months, you're going to have angles of attack that people will use to degrade and second-guess the decision makers once the smoke clears.

If anything, this proves the NCAA has no control over the P5 in any way. And that frankly the P5 could care less what the NCAA says. NCAA has been going in the the toilet for years. No true leadership and certainly more interested in money than the colleges and college athletes they pretend to care about and represent.

Real leaders have scars. They make mistakes and have skin in the game.

This season if used creatively could be fun. If AD's start filling in lost OOC with current available teams and needs, it's an opportunity to play teams you normally would not.

We gave the P5 autonomy back when the G5 schools sold their soul for 1 spot in the bowl schedule vs a P5 school. As we know the NCAA has zero co trolls of the football playoffs. They gave that away at the same time.

Dear Student Athlete:

Unfortunately America has turned into a nation of vaginas and is caught up in an emotional based era and the decisions we make are as a result of that.

We could have figured a way out to play football(or name your sport) but, instead we chose to cower in fear over a virus. I regret to inform you that your season in cancelled as is every aspect of our lives because we do not have the intestinal fortitude that we once had.

Thank God we won WW2 when we did or this letter would be in German.

Have a good day and good life,

Your College Administration and Leaders At Nearly Every Level
