Cant believe how goofy walton calls a game. Mostly he talks about civil rights. He has mentioned mlk many times. Its a basketball game not a debate. The other announcer has cut him off so he can call the game. He is on some kind of drug. A hippy snowflake for sure. Yak yak yak yak yak yak. He was a great center at ucla. He followed lew alcindor and they got better. In the national title game they won he was like 18--19 from the field. Greenduke name the hall of fame coach that coached the losing team?

Gene Bartow, who later coached UCLA. Actually Steve Patterson followed Lew at pivot for UCLA. Walton followed SP with his back up Swen Nater.

I think you’re mixing up ‘73 and ‘74.
‘73 was the final where Walton pitched a near perfect game against Memphis coached by Bartow.

‘74 NC State beat UCLA in the finals. Marquette, coached by McGuire, was in that Final Four but did not play UCLA.
