In the #USArmy's 244 year history, we have only honorably promoted three former officers. Yesterday, longtime politician and #Soldier4Life Bob Dole was honorably promoted to colonel in a ceremony at the WWII Memorial

I saw him speak once at a Chamber event here in town. It wasn't too long after he had run for President. He was one of the funniest, most engaging speakers I have heard. Remember thinking if he would have been that way while campaigning he may have become President.

It sure would have increased his chances. The guy was pure fun to watch when you put him in the right spot.
