It would have been nice for Marshall to have received the access spot but Boise State is doing good showing Go5 schools can play.

I wouldnt want AZ to whip them because ESPN and most of the national media would put the spin on it that P5 teams are too tough for the best teams of the Go5. I have to root for our fellow Go5 school.

just goes to show that the G5 schools can hold their own. Shame that we can't have more of these match's. Instead of playing NIU we should have played Miss or K-State. Hey but why screw around with a monopoly right P5/ESPN?

Thats exactly right. They are worried about their monopoly. If we were to beat a K-State or Ole Miss while Boise also beat another P5 team you start making an argument that the Go5 isnt so far beneath the P5 that some try to claim. You make an argument the G5 is undervalued and deserves more than its getting. The P5 certainly doesnt want that to happen.

and Sagarin had Marshall 17 spots higher than Boise going in to this game.

we got the royal shaft this bowl season...

Not sure we could've beaten either team. But Boise sure benefitted by an inexperienced QB.. He made many poor decisions in the game that were quickly pointed out by announcers but last one was sure stupidity. Anyway it does help Boise a lot. Not sure it makes a statement that G5 schools can hang with the big boys. Only time will tell.

Boise State represented the G5 schools well. I'm extremely happy they put it to Arizona in the Fiesta Bowl. While I wish Marshall had been the Access bowl choice instead, the Broncos made all of the "little guys" of the G5 proud. I might add that TCU (only 3 years in the Big 12) who was one of us not that long ago put a butt whipping on Mississippi to prove they might have the best team in college football. Give BSU, ECU, Marshall, etc. a couple of years of P5 money and recruiting advantages and we could be there too.

We could have beaten them both. I am not sure why everyone were tooting Arizona's horn so hard though as I never thought they were that good of a team. They had been "helter skelter" all season, thanks to suspect QB and defensive play all year, and I am not surprised that Boise St. beat them.
