Bowl game?

Bowls are a joke now. With 70+ teams going its doesn't mean anything. Just add and extra game in the regular season

College Football News as the Herd to the Servpro First Responder bowl in SMU's stadium on January 3.

Stick to this opinion and I hope to not see you on the bowl game threads...because they're meaningless.
I also expect you to not comment on any players skipping the bowl game for the NFL or anything else.

Caring about Marshall football and thinking there are too many bowl games isn't mutually exclusive
It's not that there are too many bowl games, it's that people believe any bowl game MU goes to that's not the CFP, is meaningless.

I love the bowl games, but the games are getting more and more watered down, especially for the smaller schools, because coaches leave for another school and players refuse to play ( might get hurt and lower draft stock), or enter the portal

I wish they would make a rule where coaches and players must stay with their teams through bowl season and not leave for other assignments. Of course, that won’t happen because it is all about money now.

Earle is gone too though. Hell, besides Pennington, who else do we have?

Anyone know anything about the others on the roster?
Of course, Parachek

Part of me thinks ESPN must know something. I'm not sure they would have matched us up with AAC Champ on Prime Time spot if they think it was going to be a route. They have to have known something was in the works with Huff too and still made this matchup. Maybe someone knows that we will have at lest one of our QBs ready for this game. I personally think Braxton would have made the game interesting. We basically run an Army O with more passing. We would be Army'ing Army. It would have been / might be fun to watch.

We shall see, but if its our 3rd Q or down? Not sure it's going to be worth much.

Maybe ESPN wants to boost military morale by having a Service team win decisively. After all, the US military hasn’t exactly been doing so great lately.

ESPN doesn't know anything. They just matched two conference champions up that they know travel well. Just because he learned about the bowl just yesterday after our portal announcements doesn't mean that the bowl matchup wasn't made before the defections started.

We will be down our HC, 1st and 2nd string QBs, starting RB, one of our starting WRs, one of our starting DBs, one of our better defensive players, and most likely our best overall player in Mike Green. That's just as of now. There will be even more by the time the bowl game comes around.

Considering what ODU was able to do to us with their version of the option (200+ yards in the 3rd alone), ARMY is probably going to beat us pretty easily. I mean it is college football so anything can happen, but it's highly unlikely that we're competitive in this game.

Yes I know, we are not going to be competitive because we are down to our 3rd 4th string QB. Unless one of the other two decides to stay for the game. Which is probably doubtful.

I haven't figured out why the first signing period was moved up to the 1st week of December. HS teams are in the playoffs, college teams are preparing for conference championships and the newly expanded playoffs. Why can't the portal open the last week of January and signing day a few weeks later, or vice versa. Plus it might even help with bowl participation as it would allow players who are thinking of entering the portal an additional chance to showcase their talents. There is probably a metric that I'm missing, does anyone know why the first signing period was moved up?
