Boxer 'deemed male' leaves Italian female fighter in tears at Olympics

There are certain line in the sand. This is one of them. Men are not women. Women are not men. This should not be allowed to happen and anybody that supports this is simply wrong.

Without googling it since you seem to know enough to have a take already, what do you think happened in this case?

I mean you all are against people changing the gender identity they’re assigned at birth, right? She was born with female genitalia and her birth certificate says female.

A man entered the women's boxing contest in the Olympics and punched a woman in the face.
So you agree that the gender a person is assigned at birth can be incorrect? And that the genitalia you’re born with don’t determine your gender?

If it failed a testosterone test what is the difference if that is the same as doping? How can they tell the difference between natural levels and artificial levels?

They can tell the difference between natural and artificial testosterone. Thats testable.

The idea that there would be a trans woman representing Algeria of all places is laughable.

Edit: as to how it’s different, everyone has different testosterone levels. We don’t let athletes with low testosterone “dope up” to regular levels (unless you’re the early 2010s UFC trying to make a buck on Vitor Belfort.) If her T is naturally high how is that any more an unfair advantage than a naturally tall basketball player has? It’s just the body she was born with.

Back when Harvard students actually had a sense of humor...

Do you think the National Lampoon was written by Harvard students?

Hmmm.... Please enlighten me since you are obviously so much smarter and wiser...

"National Lampoon was started in 1969 by Harvard graduates and Harvard Lampoon alumni Douglas Kenney, Henry Beard, and Robert Hoffman,[7] when they first licensed the "Lampoon" name for a monthly national publication.[a] While still with The Harvard Lampoon, in the years 1966 to 1969, Kenney and Beard had published a number of one-shot parodies of Playboy, Life, and Time magazines;[8][9] they had also written the popular Tolkien parody book Bored of the Rings.[9]"

And another example of when Harvard students displayed a sense of humor...

Meanwhile Harvard students today...

Considering its 68% score on Rotten Tomatoes, you may have been one of the few.
68% is solid for a Netflix movie. It’s not bad. Anyway, NL is an offshoot of the Harvard Lampoon and there were Harvard grads that worked there but not students, who would’ve still been writing the Harvard Lampoon. And still are.

Try a little harder...

I'll help...

The same sense of humor the three founders of National Lampoon had while students at Harvard from 1966 - 1969 was the impetus for founding National Lampoon in 1969.

At no point did I say anything about Harvard students being writers at National Lampoon at the time of the East German cover. In your smugness you ASSumed that and projected it on me.

There was a little bit of a double entendre there - partly the sophmorish humor displayed by National Lampoon (get it? sophomore = student) compared to the anger and hostility currently being demonstrated on college campuses...

I could have easily said Harvard graduates and even first typed it as such but thought a comparison to the current state of students was more telling and appropriate, at least to me.

On second thought instead of trying harder maybe you just need to lighten up...

If you can tell us the history of Algerian birth certificates from 25 years ago then, hey have at it.

Nice to see the deplorables standing up for a woman for once.

Some of us only beat our women in the privacy of our own homes while they’re chained to the oven. This on TV stuff is for true degenerates.

*of note, this story sounds pretty complex. This girl may be intersex or something. Maybe not as simple as the Leah Thomas thing. I haven’t read much about it though.

In case you missed it while you were "White Knighting" for this person he has a problem with numbers, percentages, etc. as evidenced by certain recent posts...

He's nowhere near as charming and endearing as this former NY catcher's math issues...

Literally just called him a pedophile in another thread but yeah I white knight for rifle all the time.

So herdman you think this cis-woman should have to compete against men?
Why do you guys keep falling for horsecrap from the media.

Furthermore,

We know that on Wednesday, the IBA issued a statement saying that Khelif and Lin did not undergo a testosterone examination but failed “a separate and recognized test, whereby the specifics remain confidential” during the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in India in March of 2023.

And they passed the test the Olympics use. I’m sure you’re super tuned into the wide world of amateur boxing orgs and know that the IBA is not a well regarded one, and isn’t recognized by the Olympics due to corruption. So I’ll take their super secret confidential test they used with a grain of salt.

I would t be arguing about testing and the Olympics. They aren't exactly known for their strict testing/punishment

Maybe she just likes hamburgers...

A Chinese Olympic swimmer failed a doping test, but was given a pass after it got blamed on hamburgers: report

Khelif was one of two female boxers who had previously been banned for failing gender eligibility and testosterone tests. The other was Lin Yu‑ting of Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), who is due to fight Uzbekistan's Sitora Turdibekova on Friday.

The pair were barred from competing in the 2023 women's World Championships by the International Amateur Boxing association (IBA). Its president, Umar Kremlev, said at the time that their DNA tests had "proved they had XY chromosomes (the male chromosomes) and were thus excluded," per The Guardian.

The International Olympic Committee allowed them to compete because the two boxers are "are women according to their passports" and also passed its own eligibility tests.

So, what we've learned ITT is that Herd&Hokies fully endorses allowing people with clear athletic advantages to beat the living shit out of women, he's an expert on Harvard University, and he has shitty taste in movies.

The modern woke society (full of morons) will allow a freak to pretend he doesn't have a dick, to beat up of women, and back in '80, they wouldn't let me compete in the pole vault, due to smoking a doob.

Lots of people have clear athletic advantages over lots of people.

You all want to split up gender-divisioned sports by the gender someone was assigned at birth. Ok. She has a vagina she was born with. She was assigned female at birth. She isn’t taking hormones or whatever. Why shouldn’t she fight in a women’s division? Because she’s too good?

To be clear the boxer is not trans. She is a cis-woman. She was born a woman. She has lived every moment of her life as a woman.

I’m just now reading some about this….

But she has XY chromosomes and all the advantages of a male (going through puberty with testosterone).

I personally feel bad for this lady. Shes not “trans” or an activist, she’s just a bio male with a disorder or difference of sex development . But I don’t think she should compete with the men.

“Cis gender” is just a term of modernity that isn’t really based in biology (more so “sex assigned at birth”) as it relates to this lady boxer case .

This is as I understand it an XY person that probably had ambiguous or more vagina appearing genitalia.

I would take the XY chromosome thing with a grain of salt, because the only source on that is the much-beleaguered IBA president who was defending a controversial decision to ban her after their undisclosed testing protocol.
