He has a assured starting gig at MU - Hattiesburg Campus. Making a little money, with a coach he has nothing to prove to. Going SEC was better money but absolutely no guarantee he would see the field. He's not that good.
The best QB we’ve had at Marshall in years and led us to an SBC championship. We wouldn’t have had that chance without him….but yeah…not that good.
Rawlee - I think you misread Twolf’s meaning. He’s not that good ……to see the field at an SEC level team. He’d be a 3rd option at best imo.
That’s not taking anything away from his contributions from last season! For our level, he is indeed good.
That's how I read it as well. He was great for us.
I posted this earlier when Braxton transferred. His freshman stats at Tulsa were very similar to his junior stats at MU - he just got to play more here.
Not taking anything away from him. He was a big reason, and our best option, for winning the SBC. However I don't think he's a great QB or a P5 level one. I think he's an extremely solid and efficient one though. He keeps you in the game, makes plays and doesn't turn the ball over (2 interceptions & 0 fumbles). He wins. Can he do it at a higher level? Not so sure about that. I think staying at MU or Southern Miss were his best options for a variety of reasons.
Didn't say that. No queetion he was the best since Cato, and appreciate that but if anyone thinks he could go SEC and step in the starting role, that's crazy talk.
