It's important to note that the CFP payouts have nothing to do with other (i.e. TV) revenues. It'll be super interesting to see how the next round of renegotiations go for CUSA and AAC TV contracts.

That isn't a total number for how much the conference made, just the CFP money. Also, they have fewer teams so each team actually got more money in the AAC than CUSA. So please stop crowing about being in a conference with FIU and Charlotte and accept that if offered Marshall would be in the AAC in milliseconds.
AAC is merely a stepping stone. Also, they're in the same boat as the Big 12 since they don't have a championship game.

All along, I have said to just stay put and be patient. Once these new members bring their programs up to snuff, we'll be in a much better league in the long run. My only regret is losing East Carolina -- damned if they didn't shoot THEMSELVES in the foot!
Only to finish 6th in your new divisions...at best. Whats worse is Houston has a mere 2 conference titles and having been in the conference for almost a decade longer than Marshall...Marshall already has 2 appearances and 1 title.

Since you want to count conference title appearances, keep in mind we won CUSA West most years. PLUS it was in a much stronger CUSA, a CUSA where Marshall finished near or at the bottom of every year. It's no coincidence that Marshall rose to the top after everybody worth a crap went to the AAC.
