I bet GK is pissed. But remember they went on strike for the kids.

I think that is a federal mandate based on funding.when are they making them up, at the end of the year after the testing window when there's zero to little instruction? what's the point . . .
@GK4Herd this brings up an educational pet peeve. why in the blue blazes of bloody hell are students required to be in school 180 days when, as i'm certain you're aware, they're taught up to the testing window in May with nothing but field trips, games, and extremely little instruction thereafter? i'm certain there are exceptions to this, but, for the most part, i'm correct.
why can the testing window not be put on a floating scale, per se, so that it can be moved so that when there are make up days at the end of the school calendar year, the tests can be pushed back however many makeup days? leave schools two or three days to do field trips at the end, or zero for that matter, after testing and send the little bastards home for the summer. when school is closed, that's one less day of instruction prior to the tests, and we all know that for the most part, that's what staff are teaching to, the tests at the end of the year.
it chafes my kids' ass they have to go to school after tests for upwards of two weeks to watch movies and play games.
Because you have to work
I don't think he teaches anymore...
I don’t have to work now. I make four times more outside of teaching than I do teaching school. I work because I choose to do so. I enjoy the kids. I believe I have something to offer. Not sure that a person who chooses to work when they don’t have to really fits the description of someone who would be terribly upset about making up a day.
You need to work. If things were so exciting for you then, you would not be hanging out here with the plebes.I've tried explaining that to these plebes before, but it is above their intelligence level. They come back with things like "You just have to work" or "You definitely have a boss."

Kind of like when daddy leaves the house to be with the whore down the street? You enjoy it and the kids except for when you walk out on them to strike

I've said it before. Cons don't like public education because it didn't work for them.
Maybe you should have given it a chance instead of quitting in 7th grade?
Do you think you are clever with these juvenile comebacks?I would've still been smarter than you.

Yeah, "would have," so then you admit that yore knot

as i indicated, i'm sure there are anomalies and i figured you would claim to be one (not that I doubt you, i don't). however, for the most part, at least in our county, my kids' classes year after year (which tells me it's obviously not an anomaly when this occurs over and over), there's been pretty much no instruction after the testing window, which brings me to the point of the post: why can the testing window not be moved closer to the end so there's not a couple weeks of down time?I can't speak for Cabell County because I don't teach there, but in the county I teach in days are spread throughout the year to make up for weather related closures. Those days have also been used for the days missed during the strike. Every single day missed for the strike has been or will be made up prior to the testing date. The closures did not result in a single day's loss of instruction.
As far as not doing any meaningful teaching after the test...I again can't speak for other situations, but in my classroom we will work and learn all the way through the last day of school. There's no greater nightmare than 25 to 28 students in a classroom in a non-structured or leisure capacity. I'm not saying that there aren't some year end assemblies and activities that take place, but the majority of the time is spent in the classroom. And as far as my classroom goes, we're working and I'm teaching.

Read it again, Nordstrom’s.

“a member of the plebs; a plebeian or commoner“
Your initial attempt was bad enough. The fact that you’re trying to continue it instead of hiding is even worse.
The Merriam-Webster definition is “commoner.” Exactly my use of the word. How have you learned to not challenge me after this many years and this many failed attempts?
...these plebes before...
this many failed attempts

I believe the word you were looking for was “plebs.”
A “plebe” is a freshman cadet in the military.

A “pleb” is short for “plebeian,” which is the word Romans used for common folk.

Plebes would be a group of more than one freshmen cadets.
Plebs would be more than one commoner, which is the point you’re trying to make.

Riflearm quit the thread. That’s all you need to know.
mostly stirred up by all the yankee teachers that leave where they are from because it sucked so bad and then they come south and talk about how great it was, Mad because they had to work until 245 and think they should make 120 grand a year. most people ignore it and let them have the day.The teachers are skipping school in North Carolina again to whine to the legislature.
