California conditions:

Drought
60 mph wind gusts
Low humidity
Dry fuel

Democrats fault.

California has beautiful scenery, great weather, and a ton of things to do. However, the negative aspect of the state cross it off my list. Even the rich can’t keep their homes from being robbed, burned down, or collapsing in an earthquake.

California is fantastic!!! I know because one of the former regulars here has been telling us that for years. Meanwhile, there's this:

Giant fires tend to affect water pressure. No water system can handle that many hydrants open. Add in that a lot of these rich people have sprinklers going, and yeah pressure will drop.

And that's not a knock on rich people....I'd have sprinklers too if I built or renovated a home and had $$$$. I'd have some master switch I could flip and douse the house and grounds.

If only they had raked the forests 🙄

I looked in to sprinkler systems once, but since my lawn turned to mostly moss, I figured it was getting enough water naturally without me paying thousands to give it more.

If I had $$$$ I'd buy 500 very rural acres and build a big-ass house with a ten car garage. And yes, wildfire is a threat here. So yes I'd have some crazy set-up to protect a home in that case.

So, if Californians are really all about the environment, the fire has done a great service by allowing the Malibu beach to be relieved of development blight. Will they prevent rebuilding on the beaches there to preserve nature, or will the billions in tax revenue and the desires of the wealthy cause them to act hypocritically?

I'm sure someone could say the same about where you live and any natural disaster that may occur.

Several years ago, I let a brush pile I was burning get out of control. By the time I managed to put out the fire, it had burned a rather large area of undergrowth. In the spring, the burned area came back more beautiful than it had ever been. There is some positive effects to controlled burning.

Gavin "Hair-Gel Nazi" Newsom is destroying California and there are actually those who would like to see him be our president.

Democrat policies SUCK.

That's the problem right there. They don't clear out the underbrush. Claim there is not enough resources. After they sent "surplus" overseas, two more years, and Newsome is gone. Not sure there are enough Republicans to stem the tide though.
You're an idiot.

By the way, where does that former regular live in Cali?
I think (?not sure?) Smart enough to live in OC where they are a red county and enforce rules and avoid the LA hell scape.

His property value is about to skyrocket too I bet as people still want CA but want out of LA.
