ATLANTA -- Auburn has suspended leading scorer Kareem Canty indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team.

Coach Bruce Pearl announced the suspension before the team's game Saturday at Georgia.

Canty, a junior point guard from the Harlem section of New York City, is averaging 18.3 points per game. He has made 69 3-pointers, the most in the Southeastern Conference. He leads the Tigers with 111 assists, third most in the SEC.

Auburn is 9-12 and took a four-game losing streak into the Georgia game.

Pearl said in a statement that Canty's "effort and attitude have been extremely inconsistent," despite some highlights on the court. Pearl said Canty "may return later in the season."

(Not gone yet just indefinitely suspended , probably until Pearl needs him at the SEC tournament)

The article I read Pearl call Canty a disruptive force in the lockerroom and though he would revisit this at a later date Canty is off the team.

We've seen this before. Does anyone think Canty is going to work hard to improve his standing? No he'll point fingers and make up sob stories and probably leave. It's who he is. He went to 4 different high schools and now two different college teams.

Kid is a useless punk. Plain and simple.
