Cato washed out of the CFL after 1 1/2 seasons. This year's CFL season is already over, the championship was like 3 weeks ago, Canuck football runs July-November because of the weather. Cato has signed with something called the Richmond Roughriders of the American Arena League.

I heard it's like $400 a game. My guess is he plans to open eyes for a new opportunity for cfl and beyond. We can hope so.

The APF salary cap is $3,100 per game. That money is spread over a 20-man roster and isn’t necessarily evenly distributed. The article says it is a league to gain the attention of better destinations.

I don't understand why Cato didn't make it in the CFL. Granted, I didn't get to see him play too often, but he had some great games when starting for the Allouettes (sp?)

I never bought the notion he would get into the NFL due to his size, but I had hoped he would have an extensive career in the CFL.

The organization was terrible for that team, he was a fan favorite and they benched him for someone they though would be better.

The CFL is terrible when it comes to QBs. Especially Montreal. They thought Vernon Adams was going to be “the guy”, then they traded him.

Ditto that as I would hate to see him take the Major Harris route. When we last saw the former WVU QB, he was with the Ohio Valley Greyhounds in Wheeling.
