Cato signed to play in the A-League. He will be playing for the Gulf Coast Fire. I hope this works out for him. As good as he was and probably still is, he never really got a chance in the pros. If he was 3 inches taller and 20 lbs heavier, he would be in the NFL. He is the best MU player I have had the luck of seeing in person and I always will wish him the best. As tough as he had it early in life, he has done a lot for himself and I believe deserves a chance to play. This league isn't much, but maybe it's a start to get himself back on the football track. The best thing he could do is get back into school and finish up his degree. I believe his degree would lead him to make more money than a couple hundred $ a week in an arena league

If you don't make it into the NFL, football is one of the worst paying professions you can be in. I don't think Cato sticks with the sport because he's chasing a dream, but rather because he doesn't have a second option for income.

I think his lack of success in the pros has less to do with his size and more to do with his 1.attitude and 2. his QB ability

He was entertaining and put up big numbers here in college but he was what those in the biz like to call a "gunslinger." Fundamentally he wasn't great but he was a good college QB.

A lot of good college QB’s never make it in the pros. Conversely some great Pro QB’s were very average in college.
