Will be sold on a single game basis this season. Ticket gets you access to the Big Green Room(lounge with couches and TVs), private restrooms, premium concessions, beer and wine sales and you can take your drinks back to your seats in the stadium.

Louisville and FAU= $100 per ticket
WKU, MT and Morgan St= $95 per ticket
Akron and Charlotte= $90 per ticket

This sucks, with the donation and cost ofc my tickets, . I could do this and save money. Just not the right thing to do.

People that buy chairback single game tickets don't get the Big Green benefits and credit for the priority points like you do though. Plus you have the same seats for the season already reserved. You don't have to worry about the sections selling out before you can buy each week or possibly changing seats every week.

Just something to think about.

What's this say about season ticket sales.

From all indications, season ticket renewals were better this year than they've been for a few years. I think this is less about season ticket sales and more about the opportunity to sell unsold seats at a premium price considering chairbacks have always been sold as season tickets-only in the past.

Might motivate someone to buy chairback season tickets in the future after they've tried them out a few times too.

Great Idea...an empty seat is a wasted seat. People need to get out of the transactional mindset. Remember what your gift does for Marshall and not what Marshall needs to do for you. Winning is enough for me...

Its funny. I just thought....hmmmmm. I might check that out sometime this season, and see if I like it or not for the future.

I think this is a great idea.

Folks, don't take this move so lightly in consideration of donors. It follows just one year after many of us got split up with our seat partners after decades of sitting together. And to boot, it follows after a year that long term givers couldn't buy seats that would leave a single seat open. Now to tell those same folks others can buy the very same seats they couldn't, or got moved out of, is no small deal. And, honestly, please don't preach to me about donating being a gift to the school. I've been doing it for 33 years now, so I don't need a speach on philanthrapy and the value of "just giving". I'm talking about the law of unintended consequences here.

I've had chairbacks since the Joan opened and season tickets for 47 years consecutively. wh2 expressed my sentiments perfectly.

Whf2, I won't give you the fundraiser speech (I used to be a collegiate fundraiser at two schools where both reseat), but I will ask you and everyone else a question about reseating. Why is it that 90% of schools in America reseat every 3-4 years, but when Marshall actually catches up in policy they are the enemy? You do understand Mike simply fixed a problem that should have been addressed when the stadium opened. I'm sorry you are upset about moving, but your gift also does not give you lifetime rights to the same seat (unless of course it's a capital gift). Mike and his staff are not the enemies. If you want to hold a grudge or continue to stay angry over the decision blame the horrendous AD's that have served dating back the past 25 years. It's their lack of leadership that put Mike and his group in the tough position of riling up a fan base for the sake of long term success.

And opening up chairbacks I'm sure came after lengthy discussions. The truth is we have to open all avenues for potential revenue. We need as many people in those seats as possible. I'm glad we have a leader willing to make those tough decisions.

Glad we can use the platform to "agree to disagree". I understand how people on both sides feel because I've been in the middle on numerous occasions. At the end of the day I could not be prouder to fly my MU flag down in Charleston and look forward to another great year of Marshall athletics.

we just went from making $1.1 mil per year in TV revenue to $200k per year...

expect a lot more "creativity" in trying to find money... or this ship is going to sink......

I agree 100% with the move to sell unused season ticket seats. I have given ( and not a lot mind you) faithfully for 20 plus years to the BG. The dollar range was in between 50.00 and 600.00 per year. Yet when we reseated I was greatly rewarded. So for those who haven't given or wish not to give you now have the opportunity to buy seats right beside mine for a marquee game. You just don't have the "rights" to them unless you now want to re up and start busing them and also giving to the BG.

Sorry for your trouble, I want EVERY herd fan happy and attending but with the economics as they are Mike had to make some tough decisions. Please stay a Herd fan, we need you.

Please I hope you will consider buying those seats for the season and renew your pledge to the BG. Marshall needs you now more than ever.

Glad we are being more creative with our tix purchasing and plans. We need every dollar we can get.

I think even the most casual fan recognizes the growing financial gulf between P5 and G5 programs.

It now appears there could be a growing separation between haves and have nots within the G5.

With increased budgetary woes at the state level, Marshall University leaders have to be concerned about the level of cuts coming in FYI 2016-17. It may be nearly impossible for the University to subsidize the athletic department at similar levels moving forward.

I think Mike Hamrick is doing his best to find replacement monies where he can find them. These are unusual times and Marshall is facing some extraordinary circumstances. Cut the guy some slack. Just my opinion.

Oh I will speculate Marshall survives this small short term down turn with not too much trouble.

I'd also speculate MIFART has a harder time increasing season ticket sales and attendance than Marshall. We have added some great teams and have avg. 10 wins a season plus a bowl win last 3 seasons and a conf championship. MIFART added Delaware state and who was that? ECU? Yeah. Let's just be real honest now shall we jock sniff and break out that Nair.
