This game will have to be played since its a divisional matchup.
I guess the conference will have to extend MU the same efforts they've given the West division in allowing them to complete important games.

The only option there is UNCC comes to Huntington on Dec. 5 and the Rice game gets dropped.
Oh, trust me, I am aware of the idiocy in the leadership of this conference. You’re are correct in that this game needs played. But you’re talking about the conference that straight up robbed a home championship game from us. I don’t trust them to make any rational decision when it comes to our schedule.

Charlotte-Marshall college football game postponed due to COVID-19I would think that would the best course of action. But we are speaking of CUSA here. Those idiots can’t see the forest for the trees.
The Rice game was probably going to get dropped anyway since they need to make up a possible meaningful game vs UTSAThe only option there is UNCC comes to Huntington on Dec. 5 and the Rice game gets dropped.
NCAA needs to back off the Dec. 19 hard finish date. Or we are to the point of them becoming cancelations because we are running out of time.
I would be surprised if some of these bowl games aren't canceled. How? Bowls start on the 19th. There are 14 bowls between 19th and 25th. That is about as late as you can get. What they need to back down on is the hard 6 games to the Championship rule.

Move the bowls if need be. Not really that hard with such limited fan involvement anyway. ESPN runs most of them. They can adjust the dates and times.
I prefer an adjusted CUSA schedule beginning 11/28.
This is maybe doable for the minor bowl games in that first week, but there is no chance ESPN is going to move bowl games featuring SEC/Big10/Big12/etc teams, the Jan 1 games will be played on Jan. 1 and the playoff games wont be moved.
My guess is in the next few days we will hear that the Rice game has been dropped so we can play Charlotte and they can play UTSA. If any future games are lost due to COVID, they will just be considered cancelled and CUSA will have to live with dropping their six-game rule to play in the CUSA title game.
I think people need to prepare themselves for the strong likelihood that there will be no conference championship this year, and no conference champion.
If by some chance we manage to play 1-2 more games, I would assume whoever we are matched up against in the championship game will get so much COVID from their 12/12 game that they just can't make it, sorry Marshall, I guess we'll be co-champs, and then Judy will give them a trophy too.
While this may be one of the dumber posts this season, your optimism is appreciated.
If the season ended right now, MU is the champion by miles.
Honestly, the conference needs to focus on divisions. It seems MU doesn't need to play any more West division teams, they already beat one of the top 2.The Rice game was probably going to get dropped anyway since they need to make up a possible meaningful game vs UTSA
We get it, the conference leadership sucks. The sound you heard was sarcasm flying over yore head.
Now wait a minute, you just said that MU could stop playing football right now and be unanimously declared Conference Champion by all conference members. Which is it?MU needs MTSU to beat FAU, if that happens, its probable MU would only really need to beat Charlotte to lock up the division.
Hold on. We can't be declared champs cause cusa hasn't come up with a directive yet to screw us. I get that we're dealing with covid, but the schedule was set at the start of the season. Don't want to show up at the scheduled time. Blame covid, but you forfeit and it goes down as an L against you. Let's move on.Now wait a minute, you just said that MU could stop playing football right now and be unanimously declared Conference Champion by all conference members. Which is it?

MU is unbeaten in conference play..
nobody else is. MU is the winner.
