Charter bus trip to WKU?

I'm just curious and do not mean any disrespect, but what's the advantage of a charter bus trip vs driving up yourself or piling in w a bunch of friends and getting a room or have a DD if you want to go up and back?

I don't mean to disagree, but my wife and I hate to drive and don't know anyone else to go with. That's why we would go for a bus trip. But from what I heard when I asked the question, there is never any interest unless it's postseason.

Wow. We can get a bus to a basketball game but not the unofficial C-USA East division football championship. That is depressing.

I'm assuming you're not serious, but if you are please note I have no idea who anyone on this board is.

Guess I'm just surprised that bus trips don't go well with Marshall fans when there used to be 5-6 bus trips a year for the Huntington Blizzard hockey team (which hardly ever won on the road). Maybe people had more money back then, though.

lol the blizzard.

bus trips these days are expensive, @lexkyherdfan mentioned it in another thread. you better be sure you can fill the sucker, or you'll lose money, and with the game just a few hours from huntington, the day after thanksgiving, the odds of filling it aren't great.

Exactly, it isn't as easy to set up as everybody thinks. There has to be a balance in what the cost of going is to make sure you fill the bus up. We sold out last year on our trip to Huntington for a basketball game and still only broke even. The bus itself is a great cost and if you get a family of 3 or 4 to go their cost would get expensive and then they have to buy a ticket and meals. It costs more than people think. We have raffles, etc to help offset some of the cost when we do our trip and it is only to Huntington.

We looked at doing an overnight trip for an away football game and decided quickly to not do it. There was too much risk due to the cost of the bus and we couldn't get people to confirm and pay so early.

Saying that, our basketball trip is a blast and we have done it 6 years straight. We typically go on a tour of a Marshall facility before the game which is nice.
