China waived a 125% tariff on ethane imports from the U.S. on Tuesday, according to a report from Reuters.
Ethane joins a growing list of products that China has granted tariff exemptions for amid the ongoing trade war with Washington.
Last week, Chinese officials granted exemptions for pharmaceuticals, microchips and aircraft engines and were asking firms to identify critical goods they need levy-free

"I think that over time we will see that the Chinese tariffs are unsustainable for China," Bessent told reporters. "I've seen some very large numbers over the past few days that show if these numbers stay on, Chinese could lose 10 million jobs very quickly. And even if there is a drop in the tariffs that they could lose 5 million jobs."

History tells us that Japan felt the need to go to war when the U.S. cut off their supply of petroleum. I agree that we need to pressure the Chinese to make trade more fair and to stop cheating (intellectual property theft), but we need to do this in a way that allows their economy to sustain their population. Military action is so costly and, with the destructive power of today's weaponry, can almost wipe out civilizations. Trump has never said his goal is to bring China's economy to its knees. I believe he will find a way to level the playing field without forcing China to take drastic action.

Chinks already hit is with a virus. Unfair trade. Have made it their stated goal to devalue our dollar. Take over as the world's leader and military, including in our own back door.
