Which network do you think did the more professional presentation ?

In my opinion beIN hands down was much better than ASN.

Great content, great research, good pics of campus mixed in, great young announcers, drug Chad into the booth when it got boring. My only complaint they didn't have a field mic to pic up the sound of the game better.

Thoughts?

Rely on what you say as I was at the game but look forward to seeing an away broadcast.

I was at the game so I don't know how it looked on tv but where I was sitting it was right behind a camera crew and they did have a field mic but it wasn't very big like the ones you normally see. As far as announce team i know the girl down there seemed to be really into it taking a lot of notes and prepping for her parts quite a bit. A friend of mine said he got the game on facebook and it was a good feed. Just from what I have heard i would say beIN is the way to go.

I thought their broadcast was great. They got several names wrong and evidently no one on the crew corrected them because there was wrong name on same guy given more than once.

I was at the game and I saw more instant replays from different angles than any year before, and each one had a BeIn flash after the replay, so I assume they were linked into the stadium broadcast. I was skeptical about BeIn and kinda embarrassed about them broadcasting our games when it was announced. Maybe I was wrong.

BeIN wins for us here in South Jersey hands down. ASN shows their games based on regional markets and teams. We fall into the Philadephia market and they have no regional teams here, thus none of the Marshall ASN games will be shown here. Last year we went to a few sports bars that had packages showing the Marshall listings only to receive a message that the game isn't available here. Bummer. BeIN at least allows us to see two games.

GO HERD!!!

When I heard beIN I literally had to think isn't that on my DISH TV guide and isn't it a forgien soccer station?

However like you said it's on, and ASN is usually 50/50 until It gets picked up by some DISH channel network like MASN.

If you want to check out the broadcast you can go to the beIN Sports USA Facebook page and click videos. It takes a couple of minutes to load but the entire broadcast is available.

Fine coverage. As good a job as any of the traditional channels.

Some of the ads were in Spanish, including one they ran over and over for some app to game the phone companies and call Mexico for free, but who cares?

I'll copy what I wrote on another board and its a very honest analysis of both..... beIN is going to be a very good partner for CUSA and they clearly spent the necessary dollars to make this game work..... campus shots were a very nice addition, for sure..... they spent real dollars developing a very eye-friendly graphics package and added a solid first and ten line...... their use of purple on the line of scrimmage ties their network colors nicely to the overall graphics presentation..... their "in-booth' look is terrible and clearly an after thought, I'd be shocked if they don't dress that up soon to give them a more "network" look..... as to comparing them to CBS-SN or Fox or ESPN, not close at this point.........but a very good start!!!

Here is my "review" from the other board: (first part is a response to someone's post on the sideline reporter)

Having spent 30+ years in the profession and hired scores of talent.......yes, she looks good on camera and I'm sure in person as well.....but my goodness, go back and listen..... she was just awful in her delivery and "actually" (a word that seems to proliferate her vocabulary) weak in content..... way to many words to say far to little.

PXP was weak, but the analyst has a real future in the business, needs to work on delivery and energy a little, but excellent content, very good analysis and solid voice quality.

Overall, the telecast was a good effort for a network that has done just1 football game previously..... their studio was solid and Donovan McNabb was on point.....was surprised how much their studio looked like ASN, interesting too that they are only about 70 miles apart.

What you could tell: They had good equipment at site, game had a solid budget and they clearly are a Network that will spend dollars on telecasts, I'm sure they will get better and better, there were way too many switching errors from the TD and again, overall commentator content on site was weak at best.............beIn could definitely beNifit from hiring more experienced talent.........but overall not a bad start and an "eye pleasing" watch. Graphics were well conceived too, visually (other than some "too solid" backgrounds) I liked the Gfx package.

Comparing to ASN: First and Ten line is a plus...(ASN has it, but execution has been weak -- used it yesterday on BC @ UMass)..... ASN talent for the most part is better, but give beIn a plus for hiring a sideline reporter (just hope she gets some help on her presentation and content -- ASN's Monica McNutt is better by far, when they use her on sideline). beIn had a slightly better equipment compliment on site than ASN and I think that shows......Love Doug Chapman in Studio, but beIn's "host" talent is excellent and D McNabb is solid...Doug has more experience though and it shows.

Compare the ASN telecasts yesterday: App State v. ODU or BC @ UMass and they compare favorably..... neither will win any awards at this point, but both are a solid watch.

I thought beIN did a solid job, play by play team was very good not just regurgitating stats and insight that they read in a press release or found on by searching the internet. It was as if they have been following CUSA and Marshall over the years. I thought the 3rd quarter interview with Chad Pennington was exceptionally good. It had that unique comfort level not usually found from anything other than a flag ship broadcasting team. My only criticism would be the overall volume level was very, very low. Normally I can set me volume at 20 - 30db and be fine, however I had to crank the volume up to over 80 db for this game. So when I would switch to another game (Tennessee - Va Tech) it would just blast the heck out the sound. Anyone else experience volume issues?

their "in-booth' look is terrible and clearly an after thought, I'd be shocked if they don't dress that up soon to give them a more "network" look

Indeed, the hanging purple plastic needs to be redone. Looked bad. Sound does need some help. Overall really solid and due to it having a presence on DISH and Direct TV make it more attractive to me than ASN and hoping your local city will broadcast it.

The graphic look is much more attractive than ASN, I'm on record there with a dislike of the gfx. As to the Dish/DTV, beIN is a traditional cable net, where as ASN is at this point a syndicator...MU games on ASN will be available in as many as 70 million homes this year depending on the game and generally available on Dish and Direct
