Huge difference and why a change was needed. Major props to Coach Huff and the staff.
This 100%.Maybe a poor opponent, but one that runs an offense teams seldom see. This makes things difficult even when not as good. I am a Navy Vet so watch alot of their games and have seen them give even good teams problems due to how they play. One other thing when your D has to play more than 2/3rd of the game(41+ M on the field to 18+ M off) and limit any opponent to 7 points is a positive.
I’m not discounting any of that. I think it was a great start to the huff era. All I’m saying is let’s see if this continues and be cautiously optimistic.Maybe a poor opponent, but one that runs an offense teams seldom see. This makes things difficult even when not as good. not that long ago Akron and some teams were hanging big numbers on us so yes I will enjoy this.I'm all for beating the brains out of everyone we can, score with the backups, play hard every second.
I will say now though, if we have a down year at some point, we can not whine and complain if teams hang it on us when they get a chance.
That said, let's go fast and air it out for 3 hours every Saturday.
Based on the backups running the offense and scoring two TD?I'm all for beating the brains out of everyone we can, score with the backups, play hard every second.

I'm all for it... But let's be honest, you and I have been on this message board a long time, and we both know the first time someone throws a bomb with 3 minutes to go in a 40 point game we are losing there will be guys on here whining about it and calling it low class or unsportsmanlike.Based on the backups running the offense and scoring two TD?
Almost every team in America does that and has for years. You’re just not used to it.
Of course, silly. That's how college football fans operate. We're fine piling on points as long as it's on our opponents. Zban puts his time in practice, film room, etc, too, and he deserves a shot at scoring even when playing mop up duty.I'm all for it... I think there are a lot of us that were so tired of seeing that. Up 10 then - shotgun run middle 1st, run 2nd, throw short of sticks 3rd. Then punt the other team back into the game. Inevitably lose twice to teams your inferior because of it, OR because the team didn't show up to play that day and was inexplicably lifeless, unprepared, and undisciplined. This ain't Doc ball. You could see the excitement Coach Huff and staff had on the sideline compared to the funeral march we saw with Doc every game. Coach Huff said scoring points is what it's all about no matter how much time is on the clock. Doc would have ran the ball the entire 2nd half and laid down and we probably would have squeaked out a win. Seeing us sling the ball down field at the 2 minute mark and gong for a TD told me everything. I've been waiting for this mentality for a long time. Score and don't let up! I liked what I saw on Saturday and I feel it will continue and get better with each game. GO HERD and put your foot on the throat of every team we play!
I think Coach Huff is trying to teach the men not to let up and keep going 100 percent and then some.I'm all for it... Yeah, I’d say it was awesome. I loved Coach Huff himself showing a lot of emotion during the game too.I think Coach Huff is trying to teach the men not to let up and keep going 100 percent and then some.
I have no issue with it.
Have I posted?
"next year"?? I'm a regular poster dork.. Look forward to your posts, next year
You continue to prove you have no idea what you're even rambling about. You have a two game schedule left. ECU and ASU. Then comes October and our conference. To avoid being a hypocrite, you should turn the TV off and ignore the rest of the season
Seriously...wtf are you rambling about? It's not a "snappy" comeback. (It's a question you'll fail to answer truthfully)What a snappy comeback. If you were 12.
So which is is? Is CUSA now, somehow, worthy of your note? Is a pre-Christmas bowl versus another G5 now a legitimate goal? Or not? You really cannot have it both ways.
I’ve answered your stupid question, with links, a half dozen times. YOU, somehow purported to call me out with some link in a thread I NEVER POSTED IN saying that somehow I want the team to lose or something. How stupid.Seriously...wtf are you rambling about? It's not a "snappy" comeback. (It's a question you'll fail to answer truthfully)
Link to any of my comments that ever downplayed a bowl as a legitimate goal? You wont....because you cant. I've never said that. You're an idiot that over generalizes to the point of dishonesty and when you're called out to produce what you claim....you leave the thread or take days to come up with some lame reply like this one above.
yeah, but at the same time, Navy was trying their best to score a meaningless by TD calling timeouts with under 30 seconds left. I was hoping for a pic 6, lol....I'm not crazy about the optics of throwing it deep on a service academy up 35, but we spent the last ten years burning up the garbage time in our victories by having our starters take knees instead of letting our backups get meaningful live reps. The result of that would manifest on a yearly basis, with players graduating or leaving and having to be replaced by people who'd never taken a live snap before. We were voluntarily throwing away our opportunity to develop depth, and then no surprise - depth was always our achilles heel.
I don't know a lot about Navy's coach, but his use of timeouts in the first quarter was a pretty big red flag he doesn't belong on this level. I've never seen someone go for it on 4th with a hard count, call timeout when it failed to draw a jump, and then go for it on 4th anyway. Why wouldn't you just snap it at :01 and save the timeout?yeah, but at the same time, Navy was trying their best to score a meaningless by TD calling timeouts with under 30 seconds left. The announcer stated their Coach is infamous for burning TO’s early!I don't know a lot about Navy's coach, but his use of timeouts in the first quarter was a pretty big red flag he doesn't belong on this level. I understand they go for it on 4th a lot, but they could have hung in the game a lot longer than they did if their coach hadn't gambled them into a trashcan like a 12 year old playing Madden.
^^^Too stupid to understand I was mocking multi years of your own banter suggesting your type of fandom was superior to anyone else's when Doc et.al were being questioned.^^^ (This team, and now apparently this board, is not for you.)YOU, somehow purported to call me out with some link in a thread I NEVER POSTED IN saying that somehow I want the team to lose or something.
Wrong (as usual). The difference between me and you is I actually played FB on a collegiate level, understand fully what it takes to win and recognize when things aren't working with players/coaches and you do not.The difference between me and you is I understand just how hard that is, and you do not.
So you are not really going to answer the question.
Answer: When have I claimed the CUSA is not "worthy of a note"? (I've been posting here for years about marshall football. I've written a lot of "notes".) When have I claimed a bowl game is not a legitimate goal? (I never have-A bowl game is what college FB players grind for)So which is is? Is CUSA now, somehow, worthy of your note? Is a pre-Christmas bowl versus another G5 now a legitimate goal? Or not?
Demonstrating how untruthful your claims are and calling you out on it, isn't childish.Very childish.
These are the quotes from you that will always live on Sammy. The next 11 years will see at least 3 head coaches, each more of a settlement for than the previous. The idea of any championships seems pretty much a pipedream
You are a Moron with a capital "M"! I have tried and tried to explain the business of college football to you, but you either fail to listen or just cannot comprehend what you are being taught. The most recent example is when I had to explain to you that WVU would not be dropping down to a G-5 Conference. What a snappy comeback. If you were 12.
So which is is? Is CUSA now, somehow, worthy of your note? Is a pre-Christmas bowl versus another G5 now a legitimate goal? Or not? You really cannot have it both ways.
The AAC came to them? You predicted that WVU would drop down to the AAC, I explained to you that you were wrong. Now that you were proven wrong, as usual, you just change your position.
That's fine, I am done trying to teach you anyways
Why exactly are you here. Why is what MU fans say about “your” (same words as on your road card, no actual relationship) school so important to you?You predicted that WVU would drop down to the AAC, I explained to you that you were wrong. Now that you were proven wrong, as usual, you just change your position.
That's fine, I am done trying to teach you anyways
Anyway, I correctly said, almost a month ago, that the Leftover Little 8 would either be reabsorbed into the other mid-major leagues; or it would try to save itself by “raiding” some teams. And, as usual, I was 100% correct.
I will say...the local news does do this.I also stated that the Metro News / Gag-zette / WOWK spew machine would tell the mind numbed Spamies that whatever happened WAS major college football, and that these low IQers would accept what they were told 100%. And, as usual, I was 100% correct.
I know you are trying to be funny, but, yes, you are correct. The mind numbed Spamite ON OUR BOARD was spewing about USPAM’s “power 5 future” (meaning ACC, which this brings us to a even half dozen times the ACC has rejected their application) which, in your analogy, would be the coin landing on edge. I, correctly, as usual, said that no, either the Big 12 30 would take a few mid-majors and continue as a mid-major venture; or that the AAC would take a few of the Leftover Little 8, and continue as a mid-major venture, which in your analogy would be heads or tails. Head it is. Correct, as usual.Translation: "I predicted this quarter would either land on heads or tails. As usual, I was right."
