When is Huff going to give Chads son a shot at QB? He keeps recruiting quarterbacks when many of us want to see what this young man can do.

I expect he has to be absolutely clearly better than anyone and everyone else to get a chance to play at MU. I sense Huff has a real concern over playing legacy players, suspect they have to be chosen by both coaches and their peers in order to get playing time; clearly better than anyone else on the team at their position.

Everyone knows, just because the father was good, or a legend at their game, the son may not be. The kid has enough pressure on him as it is.
As said earlier, I want the best QB we have, regardless what the name is on the back of the jersey.

Knowing how he was taught by his Dad in high school, my guess is Cole would be the most cerebral QB on the roster. Chad was not the most gifted guy athletically, but he had a great football brain. Time will tell if Cole can exhibit the same ability to outthink defenses and throw accurate passes like his Dad did.

If there is no change in the pecking order at QB, by the end of the season, I suspect 1 or 2 younger QBs will transfer. No one wants to wait till their senior year for a chance to start.

All this begs the question why offer the young man a “legacy” scholarship if he’s not going to play. Sure we want the best QB so does this mean he’s not good enough?

Surely you know the answer to at least one of these questions without asking it.

Because you want to bring in the best talent to push each other. And the second question you answered it yourself at this point in Cole's career.

Qb is not like other positions where you can see meaningful reps even as a back up and move around to different parts of the field (ex: WR can play X,Y,Z position can see typically 6-8 people on the field during the game).

It mind blowing some people (on this board and the other boards) think the head coach doesn't want to put the best players on the field to give the team the best chance to win.

They have way more in stake than most of the fans to win (more money, bigger gig or more power and security at a school).

Exactly. It's not like Huff doesn't want to win. He plays the kids that the staff thinks will win games. I doubt he gives a crap who the kids parents are.
It's not some damn conspiracy against Cole.
