I have read various comments about Danny making a statement that WVU was scared to play us......(I am not sure that is exactly how he said it). Would one of you attach a copy of the printed article that states they are afraid to play us? Thank You.

It wasn't in print he saod it in the post game of the capital classic. He did say they were scared and then followed it up with "we're back".

He looked real dumb saying that after a loss amd with each loss looks even dumber.

It was all blown way out of proportion by that drunken hillbilly, which in turn has caused it to be blown out of proportion by some of our fans who care way too much what those hill jacks think.

he said, "we're coming back"

It really diesn't matter what was said or how it was said. The issue is he said it in a loss. I watched thr post game. He fired shots at WVU. That was not the time or place.

It came off petty amd like a sore loser.

I love his passion but it came across as a Marshall Coach with a lot of pent up anger over WVU......However, Danny hadn't lived in WV for 40+ years and it was a bit early in the process. It was bizarre.

How about 2 years from now and after a win!

Can someone please enlighten me on what he's supposed to say? I mean, wouldn't he want to try to encourage the team/fans for a big game rather than say "Yeah, we totally suck. They'll blow us out without effort. Please, don't waste your time or money on watching or going to this game."

By the way, our team played very well that game and Huggie Bear was probably getting a little bit nervous there for awhile.

He was supposed to talk about the game, give credit to WVU, talk about positives, room for improvement, and then graciously depart. Its how hundreds of losing coaches do postgame pressers every day.

I can see D'Antoni being canned by the end of next year with less than ten career wins. Five if you take out the D-II schools. Then again, judging by Hamrick's recent raise, the dumpster fire that has been our basketball program doesn't really show up on his job evaluation.

completely wrong.

It was in reference to playing each other every year or maybe even twice a year at each place. He said something along the lines of..." If they won't schedule us then they're just scared"... We're back.. Something like that

no he didn't. jesus christ people just make sh!t up. it was in reference to the series possibly ending, he said "if they back out now, they're afraid of us, we're coming back." as in we're coming back to charleston to play them, ie we aren't canceling the series.

This year is a total washout........I am making zero judgements.

You do any analysis of the coaching this year. They have no players.........

Walk-ons, Division II talent, & under-sized role players being asked to be "the man".

Next year will be the first opportunity to do any evaluation of coaching. Are the guys that they brought in going to get better in the off season? Are the guys who are sitting out, actual D-I talent?

I think the recruit from Louisville, the transfer from Miami, and Elmore will help. Jury is still out on Browning. I personally don't see the Serbs ever helping us.

Unless Dan runs off a couple of players this Summer, the roster is full for 2015-2016.

The next big test will be, who are they recruiting for 2016-2017? Can this coaching staff actually recruit? Can they find players who will buy in to the, "I can develop you into an NBA player"? Because that's what Dan and Duhon are selling.

Can they find a Steph Curry????

just depends if kambola and smith get an extra year. if they do, yeah, we're full-up. if they don't we have spots.

right now, for sure we have (1) boykins, (2) burks, (3) edmonds, (4) johnson, (5) kelly, (6), loop, (7) manning, (8) mijovic, (9) nicolic, (10) taylor, (11) thieneman on scholarship for next year.

I'm guessing Elmore will go on scholarship as well, if his Hardship Waiver is approved.....And possibly Browning.

I don't think anything is for sure on the current roster but he doesn't have much room to play with this coming year. I certainly hope he doesn't just throw out scholarships just because he has them. That's the way it felt with the Serbs and Burks.

I like this website it gives a pretty good breakdown of where we are at scholarship wise. As it stands, like you said, we have two spots open.

Verbal Commits

I would be shocked if at least two more players on the scholarship list for next year are not released.

Herdit44, not sure why you are blasting ohhale for posting what he thought was said by coach DD. I think it was clear he wasn't quoting the coach.

"I heard suggestions for home and home. Here's my suggestion: Morgantown, Charleston. Next year Charleston, Huntington and just keep it that way," he said. "It's good for the state. If they back out now they're afraid of us. We're coming back"

This is what DD said.
