Congrats Herd! Now what...

We played like we were capable of playing all year long. Defense looked solid and Heater called a good game... weren't going to be able to cover their receivers - so blitz like crazy and knock their QB around. Congratulations to the players and coaches - glad that LB was suspended for the 1st half - clearly he was a difference maker for C-State's defense.

Obviously, EVERYONE is calling for Bill Legg's head on a silver platter... we return everybody - and I dont think a new OC will be very helpful to Litton. At the same time, I think I might vomit if I have to go through another season of his terrible schemes and play-calling. On the upside, we were 8-5 and return just about everyone with the exception of Yurachek - who we all hope has the opportunity to play at the next level.

It doesn't matter who the OC is or the scheme when you are -10 in turnovers and -36 points off of turnovers in your 4 conference losses. Not turning the ball over is key in 2018.

Yeah but your 90-100th plus on offense over the whole season, and 5 of the 8 years Legg has been here.

There's bigger problems than turnovers.

Not this year. I'll stand by my statement (supported be the stats), you have a negative turnover ratio next year the name of the OC will not matter. I only see where the Herd finished 90th or greater in points scored only twice since 2010.

I think Legg is an average OC. If we are going to replace him with someone like him I say what's the point. In all fairness some of our struggles were his play calling but much of it was lack of execution and turnovers like PaHerd said

Excuse me, we were 75th in points scored this year. That's much better.....

Your stats prove nothing, other than Litton has never been the answer at QB, at least not in Legg's offense. Even the commentators were talking about our OC trying to get Chase to run more so the offense will work.

Square pegs and round holes, with an OC trying to cram them in.

Anyways, don't get us started with this just yet. As others have said, everyone needs to just enjoy the win.

Chase Litton is the issue. Did you see Yurachek yelling at Litton early in the game about over throwing the ball. He makes to many mistakes and the players don't respect him. The kid has huge potential, but his attitude needs improving and im afraid Doc babies him to much.

All eers....refer to the lessons....TO vs TOO.

I disagree Doc babies Chase. You don't attend practice...nor do many of us. Players earn playing time in practice and games are an extension of practice...no matter what "that Georgetown kid said (Allen Iverson)."

His attitude made major overhauls this season.....and it showed on the players faces......

The points scored is skewed because we have been pretty good at scoring defensive and special teams TDs. If you look at total offense, which takes that stuff out, the best season we have had without Cato is 64th and have had three seasons outside of the top 100. The non-Cato average is in the bottom third of FBS with zero years in the top half.

You did see Yurachek giving Litton dirty looks and yelling at him? This is called lack of respect! My guess is Doc really had no choice on who to play other then Litton. Now, I will give Doc and Legg credit for tons of change in Litton but if the team is to take a leap forward Litton needs to do the same. Only time will tell.

an overlooked part of yesterday's game was teh solid play of special teams. We made all extra points and our only field goal, all kickoffs were touchbacks, they virtually no punt reurn yardage, we had a punt return called back for a questionable call, no fumbles on our returns, and what may have been the play of teh game was the last punt in teh fourth quarter. Vedvik mis-handles the perfect snap but keeps his cool and picks up ball and punts the rugby kick 46 yards with a CSU guy chasing him. cool under pressure !!

The real story of Marshall's offense the last two years has been the line - last year it was decimated by injury, this year it featured a bevy of Freshmen. Neither year were we able to run the ball effectively, and if your offense can't do that, it can't do much else, at least not consistently.

I think the big runs in the bowl showed you what you can expect if the line develops as they should. King could be a home run hitter - maybe not as good as Stew Butler, but better than anyone we've had since. The next two years look to be pretty good on offense, no matter who is calling the plays.

Where that kid James Allen? And Ja Qua Daniels?

JaQua Daniels did not qualify academically so he played this year at Butler Community College. According to the Butler football website he only played in games 2, 3 and 4, but still appears to be on the roster. So I don't know if he got hurt or just lost his spot to someone else.
