CONSPIRACY AGAINST THE UNITED STATES!
TRUMP MEETING WITH HIS CRIMINAL DEFENSE TEAM THIS A.M.
Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his longtime business partner Rick Gates have been charged in a 12-count indictment with conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money and making false statements
a significant escalation in a special counsel investigation that has cast a shadow over President Trump’s first year in office.

Trump soon promoted him to chairman and chief strategist, a job that gave him control over day-to-day operations of the campaign.

Mueller’s team has requested extensive records from the White House, covering areas including the president’s private discussions about firing James B. Comey as FBI director and his response to news that Flynn was under investigation, according to two people briefed on the requests.

Mueller is also investigating whether Trump obstructed justice leading up to Comey’s firing. His team has been actively presenting records and bringing witnesses before the grand jury in D.C. for the last three months.

36 PAGE INDICTMENT - REPUBLICAN TAX PLAN ONLY 9 PAGES.

well, first and foremost, the indictment is 31 pages, not 36. you'd have known that if you read it.

second, this has absolutely nothing to do with what the dems have screamed their heads off over, i.e. trump colluding with russians to win the election. again, if you read it, you would know this and you would also know that it has everything to do with manafort, mainly, and his partner gates laundering money from like 2006 through probably still doing it. at any rate, they didn't report any of this to anybody that should have, i.e. tax preparer. so, what makes you, or, well, anybody in their right mind, anyhow, which would exclude you, believe manafort or gates would have reported this information to trump, nor any former presidential candidate that utilized them?

third - and this is your only wish in one hand, shit in the other moment - this was done for 2 reasons: one, because the fvckers should be prosecuted if all of this is true, and, two - here's your moment - an attempt to put pressure on them to blow a whistle on trump for something, anything.

like i said, wish in one hand, shit in the other, see which one fills up the fastest.

Awe Trumptard. This looks very strategic to me. Let the little birdie sing and fire some warning shots to Jr, Kushie, Page, Flynn, etc... jeezus the list is long.

"Conspiracy against the United States"...damn, that's some heavy sounding shit. Conspiracy against the Treasury is one thing, but it also says conspiracy against the DOJ. Whew. It could be as simple as lying and obstruction in the tax and money laundering investigation...and it could mean lying and obstruction in the investigation into the Trump campaign. Either way, Manafort is fvcked ten ways to Sunday.

WV-FAN, no it does not have a direct relation to Trump, but I think the strategy is obvious: prove what you can against a big fish and get him to sing on stuff there isn't a paper trail for. Obviously money laundering and tax evasion there's a paper trail.

What I don't understand is why would Trump even take a chance with hiring Manafort as his campaign manager. It was pretty well known that Manafort was backed by the Russians and represented Russian interests in Ukraine.

Fwiw, the whole "conspiracy against the U.S." charge is being blown out of proportion by the media, who clearly do not understand the law. 18 U.S.C. 371 is the general federal conspiracy statute. In other words, it is the conspiracy charge for all federal offenses that do not contain a conspiracy offense in the language of their own specific statute - which offenses like money laundering, drug trafficking, child exploitation do. For instance, conspiracy to cut timber on federal land would be charged under 371, or conspiracy to pass counterfeit bills. In actuality, if you read the indictment, it's charging conspiracy to commit each of the substantive counts that do not have an independent conspiracy charge under the individual statue - that is, the failure to file, etc. It's not like it's charging treason or some sh*t like is being made out.

The money laundering charges are going to be the driving force behind this indictment as they carry a heavy penalty and the sentencing guidelines can be pretty heavy- handed depending on the underlying unlawful activity.

After reading parts of this indictment, I find this to be pretty weak. After all these months of investigation and leaks from the general counsel about collusion and this is what he’s got???

If I were a liberal (that had a clue), I’d be a little disappointed. None of this appears to actually be linked to Trump activities during campaign.

It's a tool to get one of these guys to talk. We'll see if they have anything to say.

This ^^^

Those money laundering charges carry enough weight that if Manafort has anything on Trump, he will talk.

I still don't think they will tie Trump to collusion through Manafort. The guy that just pled? That may be a different story . . .

months into it and you're just getting started. laughable. the best he's come up with so far has nothing to do with what he's to be investigating.

"Tool"? More like a desperate hail mary to actually show something for the money he's been spending for over a year. The "tool" to get him to talk would most likely have already been offered/happened during the investigation and prior to indictment.

Seriously, the charges relate to activities years prior to joining Trumps campaign??? This investigation is nothing more than political witch hunt to help cover for Clinton's/Dems real connections to the Russians.

Over a year of investigating and this is what you get excited about? Bahahahaha.

"Great comment" quoted from a made up, fictional story/character................a more true metaphor could not be given.

You are too smart to live in a fantasyland, but go ahead and do so if it floats your boat.

Shittin pants? Bahahahaha. You've been shitting your pants since the morning after the election.

Been waiting a year and what do we get in regards to Russia?? A dude that was originally barely known to the campaign, sending emails, crying for attention with "connections" that offered nothing, and an indictment on another for accused illegalities years before Trump was even a candidate. Talk about dropping a big turd.

Any more predictions we can bet against?

I go with my instincts. They have rarely led me down the wrong path.

Then your instincts should be good enough to know how a prosecution unfolds. Again, maybe he has something to say, maybe he doesn't. I thought it was obvious Manafort or Flynn would be the first fish to fry, just because their shit is easy to prove.

Will you feel silly if this has nothing to do with Democrats? I personally don't care either way, but you seem to be emotionally invested in this.

It is emotionally hysterical watching you conspiracy theorists and Trump haters continually predicting the likely outcomes of things that keep turning up goose eggs.

Unfortunately I'm not the one on here posting "Mueller knows" for 12 months or disappear for 6 months following an election. I remember you claiming the "intelligence" dossier was damning, despite many of us claiming it to be nonsense. Silliness indeed.

Great story Trumptard.

I'll admit to a great dislike for Trump, because he is a wretched human being. If anything, I was the only one here for years preaching a change in trade policy, so it has never been political for me. Maybe I should have ran for POTUS.

Conspiracy theory? There's already one guilty plea in said conspiracy...perhaps it isn't a theory. Certainly, Russia being up to no fvcking good in our election is a proven fact. Was Trump himself in on it? I'd say we are a lot closer today to finding out.

The dossier is damning, if you prefer to not vote for guys who like being pissed on. Considering Trump has been pissing on the GOP and the nation now for ten months and you still approve of him I'd say I grossly underestimated the number of people who are into such things.

Didn't the POPolupianas guy plead guilty to lying to the feds? That is more a damn tax evasion lie is what that is.

I'll help you. Believing in a made up "intelligence" dossier: you believe in fairies too?

There was a bit of truth sprinkled in there. Ironically, that's the part that's still haunting Trump. I doubt the pee thing happened, but I wouldn't be shocked if Trump actually liked that, most of these super-rich seem to be perverts.
