As I sit in front of the bank of monitors I use to survey the madness breaking out across the boiling globe, I pet my hairless cat and ponder, "I wonder what Mike Hamrick thinks about this new hire?"

I scoured the entirety of the internet from teeth to taint, and was only able to uncover a single nugget of what sounds like PR-induced copypasta:

“We believe Coach Huff will build upon the proud and rich tradition of Thundering Herd football and elevate the program to new heights,” Hamrick said through the release. “We can’t wait to get to work on moving our program forward. The future of our great university is very bright.”

I can practically hear President Gilbert's fingers moving around inside his torso.

I've seen multiple notes that Hamrick was in charge of the hiring squad and a lead voice in the decision to hire Huff, but not much in the way of personal comment on the issue. It is unusual to hear solely from the University President in an athletic department hire, usually that goes the other way. Has anyone else seen anything different?

Wondered about his quote, or lack of, myself.

I find it odd that apparently, from video I have seen, that he wasn't at the airport to meet the new coach. Don't understand that, unless he is on his way out.

You would think Marshall could have sprung for a private flight to Htgn for the new coach.

I heard fingers moving when both of them spoke.

Herd fans are too much. It's either not enough, or too much. Never satisfied.

lol Ray Charles can see the difference between the infamous “leave your egos at the door” Holliday introductory press conference where he rolled out the green carpet and crowned Holliday the King of Marshall vs. Hamrick’s overall demeanor towards this process.

I honestly couldn’t believe it when you guys said that (couldn’t watch the press conference at school today) I can’t believe he legitimately pulls it out of a dollar tree bag. That whole thing is a metaphor for his tenure: do something nice in the cheapest and least professional way possible.
