that would be sad news. I always enjoyed his insight when he would post on this board.
Greenduke did you know Ron Kazalla. Probably spelled that wrong. He was the play by play man in the 70's. Lived right next to him. Coached my brother in little league

Yes I knew Ron, think he teamed with Dan Shoemaker on MU football and basketball telecasts in the 80’s. A lot of those were delay broadcasts on the old WMUL, the football was usually telecast around 11-11:30 Saturday night. The theme music, at least in ‘84 & ‘85, was a loop of the opening bars of Billy Ocean’s Caribbean Queen.
Am radio. Dad and I sat in the press box with Ron and I cherish those days.

The local Charlotte Observer did not have Dan's obit. I would have driven to Huntington to attend his Celebration of Life, Sunday, April 8...had I known the final tribute. He was a TRUE MAN OF MARSHALL. He lived in Charlotte running his company. He leaves behind a wife & two daughters and families. I read online he died last Wednesday in Huntington while trying to find ways to advance Marshall.
RIP SHOE.
