The concept behind a sanctuary city is supposed to be simple: the local cops don't care if you are illegal when investigating crimes. I 100% support this. Witnesses should not be afraid to cooperate with police just because they are here illegally. We already have enough no snitching culture bullshit that lets violent criminals get away with shit.

I don't see it as any different than the cops shouldn't care you just smoked a joint if they come to your door to ask if you saw the murder across the street and a cloud of skunk hits them in the face.

I sincerely hope we don't throw this out with needed immigration reform. One part we do need to change is releasing criminals that have an ICE hold on them, it should be no different than a federal warrant.

There's a lot else that should be reformed IMO, but that's it for now.
