Love the guy, but leaving early always screws our players. By going early without fanfare, they wind up being UDFAs instead of draft picks, and that makes you the most expendable player on the roster. There's no guarantee you'll get a real look, because the GM loses nothing if you get cut. Even the guy they took in the Seventh Round will get plenty of carries, but you might not.
Before anybody mentions Ahmad Bradshaw, please keep in mind he made almost as much money in his fourth season ($1 million) as he did in his first three seasons combined ($1.115 million). The Giants got a tremendous back for dirt cheap, and if he had gotten hurt on his rookie contract, they'd have been out nothing and he'd have hardly anything to show for his pro career. That whole "I gotta get out of college so I don't get hurt" thing doesn't necessarily end when you bolt.
